Sturdy Good Receive
What I liked best about this antenna was that the length wasn't too long to make it awkward to handle. The transmit and receive were an improvement to the stock 9 inch rubber duck. I'm happy with my perches.

Paired With A Extended Battery, Mint 👌
Loved the product shipped well didn't have any of the issues people were complaining about didn't have a cracked base threads matched up perfectly and sat wonderful wasn't bent when shipped or anything came in a soft protective case put it on and immediately started picking up channels from truckers on the road and all sorts of different stuff made the FM and AM radio functions come in way way way more clear since i live about 30 miles from the nearest radio tower so i know it is helping long range transmission if you pair it with any extended battery for baofang UV5R or retivis RT5R looks mint and works wonderfully will get this antenna for any baofang or retivis UV or RT style radio

Good gain, durable, out of the way
I have two Baofeng radios, one with a Nagoya (which I consider to be the gold standard in antennas) and one with the stock antenna. I wanted a replacement for the stock radio that wasn't as expensive as the Nagoya, but performed just as well. Going in, I figured this was impossible, and I was right. But, this antenna comes fairly close. I borrowed a friends Baofeng, which also has a Nagoya, and did a side-by-side test with my son and our local park. I sat with both radios while he walked around the park and surrounding area. We consistently got farther apart using two Nagoya-equipped radios regardless of any other antenna we tried. However, this antenna came in second place. There was only about 100 feet of difference when signal quality started to drop. Granted, these were almost ideal conditions. The park is huge, so there was little to get in the way. That's what I was after. I can't tell you how well this antenna performs in a neighborhood or in an amusement park--we didn't test it that way. The antenna is MUCH more forgiving of rough treatment than the Nagoya. Plus, you can remove the whip end of the antenna, leaving you with a "stubby" which is perfectly acceptable for receive-only mode (do not transmit with the whip removed!). For the price, I'm happy.

Good, flexible antenna
Checked the antenna out with my NanoVNA as soon as it arrives and the SWR is spot on for ham radio 2M VHF and 440 UHF bands. Very good match for my radios and it is so flexible for packing when I travel.

RigExpert AA-600 shows SWR below 2:1 on 2m and 70cm edge to edge
This is an excellent antenna, especially compared to the ABBRREE versions. HYS is apparently taking their time to tweak in their product to hit the US Ham bands right on the money. The CAMO version has identical performance. So far, every HYS antenna I've tested is on the money. I have yet to get an ABBREE that resonates in the 70cm and 2m bands correctly. I do see some reviews about poor mechanical quality that HYS needs to handle, but they do refund when a bogey gets through. 73 -- NW7T

Receive is great but…
I just received my license KC3VLN. I have not yet been able to make my first contact. I can hear fine but not able to reach out. I live in the Pocono’s so definitely not flat. Additionally, with very mild usage the plastic base has cracked off a piece. So overall I can’t recommend this antenna. I will be ordering the Nagoya 771 as a replacement.
