2 People can play at the same time and you share the screen/play space. You each need a wii remote and figure. If 2 are playing you work as a team. There are some battle modes where you can go at each other as well.

Does the SWAP force starter pack for wii work with wii u?

No. The disk did not work. It was anly for USA and South America, not for Europe.

What language is this game in? I recently purchased a differnt one in Spanish accidentally and I need an English version.

This one came to us as the English version. Our kids love this.

Does the portal & the usb connection cable come with the starter pack?

Yes, the portal comes with the USB cable attached. Then you just plug the cabe to the usb port in the back side of the wii
