Great game, great workout.
DDR for the Wii console is a great workout game and also great for beginners with the training mode. The game features a workout mode with an active counter for calories burned in a session of playing DDR. The songs and method of unlocking them is an absolutely great. All you have to do is play any song in workout or free mode in any difficulty and you unlock songs by getting points. Easy! I own the xbox 360's version of DDR which features about 90% of the same songs as the wii version. However the xbox 360's DDR has an awful method to unlock songs by doing the tedious "dance club" mode where you have to play an 'x' amount of songs in row at a fixed difficulty to gain points. It takes me about a few hours to unlock 1 or 2 songs while in the wii version, I can unlock about 4 songs within 1 hour.If you like to see what songs are on the wii version just youtube the song list for "DDR 1 Wii" and see if you like the songs before purchasing.READ HERE*******This review was posted on June 17, 2015.One crucial part I should add before you decide to purchase this game is that it is compatible with the wii u and new wii consoles. HOWEVER only the old wii has GCN ports on the console which is for the dance pad. There are dance pads that connect to the wii mote but I do not recommend it unless it is a last resort. You can buy old wii consoles with the GCN ports for about 50 bucks at flea markets or even cheaper.

Still a hit!
So fun to be able to order this for my niece and nephew to do together. The game works great and they love it.

Just my two cents.
The music selection is not as good as the Just Dance series. This makes the younger ones not want to play.

AWESOMELY FUN GAME!
Come, do you really need to read a review for this game?!! My only two criticisms are that the graphics could be better (DUH, this is a Wii game--what did you expect?) and the menu system can be a little tedious system at times. But the game has tons of features and modes, and the addition of the Wii remote means the upper body is involved too, arguably making this version even better than the arcade version (arguably). Also, the variety of songs is really nice; I personally would have preferred more retro stuff but it's not a bad selection. Undoubtedly this game will give hours and hours of joy to the kinesthetically and musically inclined.

Dance Revolution
Not flipped about this one! It stops and says stuff so you cannot get a good workout from it. The music end is ok, but I need to get a workout from it which I found impossible!

(Update) - Half usable on new Wii, poor directions.
Got this figuring I could use it with the Gamecube-to-Wiimote adapters - the game detected it correctly as a classic controller but didn't let me pick it for a dance mat...apparently the dance mat has to be plugged into the same gamecube port as the wiimote that dancer has. Worthless for new Wii that doesn't have gamecube ports.Update:After finally finding an old wii I could borrow, I figured out how this game actually works (which isn't documented in the manual very well at all). You CAN use it on the new (black) Wii that lacks Gamecube ports but it REQUIRES a GameCube to Wiimote adapter GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii & Wii U note you CAN NOT play the full game with Choreograph mode because that requires "real" gamecube ports to use the wiimote at the same time. You can play in "Classic" mode with the DDR mat only.To make this work on the new wii:1. you will need to start the game and let it run through the initial "tutor" thing that isn't mentioned in the guide. Just leave it alone for 5ish minutes and it'll eventually prompt you to press A and reach the main menu. This was very confusing.2. select the menu for "Dance Mode"3. Select # of players4. Pick a record/guest5. Select game mode (only tried "normal")6. CHANGE the mode to "Normal" - you can't use choreograph on the new wii with the gamecube to wiimote adapter plugged in because you can't have both the mat and nunchuck plugged in at the same time.7. Select a song and the DDR mat should control the arrows.
