Perfect gate, looks great and easy to assemble. We ended up buying 3!

What a bear to put together
Although this was crazy hard to assemble, in the end, it looks great! We had to plane down our wood as standard .75 boards didn't fit perfectly. I bought custom milled boards, giving the shop the specs from the product description. Also, the final two screws didn't line up perfectly, so those had to be drilled out just a bit and thankfully, it doesn't show. The metal frame scratches very easily, so be sure to lay down a drop cloth for assembly. Also, the latch only allows the door to be opened from one side, so a rope or chain is needed, or a two way latch needs to be bought separately. The top arch can be filled with wood, but I was so over this project, I just installed it as seen and it's fine.

Incredible!
All I have to say is wow!- Each of the brackets were bent inwards. Even after using a 24" pry bar, none of the 1x6 boards really fit in there as the product describes.- Only a few of the holes line up in order to insert the hardware through it.- Package was delivered open and in general bad condition. This product is a lot like communism. Great in theory, but trash otherwise. I don't know if it's Amazon's overall carelessness or "Nuvo Irons" bad attention to detail, but this is no way to do business. The silver lining is now I will be able to defend myself against intruders with my new 24" pry bar, since I still don't have a gate.Amazon, you need to review your TQA processes. You've become synonymous with bad product.

Professional looking modern gate
It is a very solid and well made kit. However it is not easy to build. It does take two people to build and lots of cursing will be involved. The gate can be shortened or widened as needed if you have the ability to cut top and bottom rails and drill new holes. The boards can be vertical or horizontal. The 1inch recommended boards are a very tight fit. I simply used a small piece of wood as a wedge to widen the gap so I could get each board in. Once I figured that out assembly was a breeze. You don't have to miter the edges of the boards. Hammer in your wedge block, slide in your board and hammer your wedge over to make room for the next board. Repeat till the end. They do fit.I did a horizontal gate and used plastic spacers to leave a half inch gap between boards. The gate is extremely heavy once built and will require two people to move. Each gate took about two hours to build. I would recommend using metal posts to hang the gate on as they are very heavy once assembled.

Strong and Sturdy!
Though the gate comes slightly larger. I was able to cut the excess off to fit my opening. Though not easy and as it was thick I was able to put it in a vice and cut it off with a sawzall. It is great and my partner likes it. I would highly recommend it. The door has no problem carrying the wood as I see no drag, so the door hinges are strong. I would say when you build it bring a rubber mallet with you so you can get the proper spacing for the holes.

Very good
This doorframe is super good and well made. One thing I have to say, it needs a little bit not whole a lot of talent and skills. Definitely not for kids to assemble. But overall all really happy and satisfied with it. I’m glad I bought it.

Pretty nice for the price
As others stated a standard 5/16 cedar 6ft fence board will slide in with a lot of work. Did have to dremel some since the aren't all perfectly straight. I also did have to drill a couple of holes because of alignment issues but overall for price and effort I am satisfied. Its needs a cross bar to really make it strong as its a big gate. Still though it looks nice and overall happy with outcome. Wife is very happy as its lighter than the standard builder grade fence so easy to open and close. I did add a wheel to bottom for extra support. As long as your a basic handyman you can put together by yourself. You def need a partner to hang though.

20 min install my A**!
Took about 3 hours…. Let me start off that standard 6”x6ft pickets do not work! You must buy bigger because that half - 1 inch is crucial! So having to drive back to lowes and exchange pickets to 8ft then get home and cut them down is part of that 3hrs.not to mention what a waste of material and money that is. Also one of my corners came bowed so i had to take some time to fix that because the bolts are to short for that mess…. Then you must cut down the last picket to about 4” in width (i don’t remember the exact measurement) so it is preferable if you have a table saw to get a long straight cut. After all that work, the gate looks pretty good, except the damn arch at the top was not made to size. So now i have to call and complain about that cause that was the kost important piece to me. Im not sure how long it will last as it is all just bolt and nut. I’ll have to go back and add threadlock to all of them one by one….

Solid frame
Liked: 1. The solid frame 2. Final product looks great.Dislike: 1. Finding non wood boards a challenge. Used composite fascia boards. 2. Bolts for latch were too short, had to buy carriage bolts. 3. To support boards I used cross braces to strengthen and minimize boards looking warped.

Read all the negative reviews!
This gate is really attractive once you get it installed.Step 1 throw away the instructionsstep 2 unbend all the bent metal that arrived with the useless instructions.step 3, gather a sander, drill (for wood and metal), hammer, square, and your patience.Step 4 commit the next three hours to building this gate. You will live the finished product!Good luck!

Not made for one inch boards. Boards had to be modified which created tons of extra work.
