Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash | Gentle Face Cleanser for All Skin Types | With Mint, 5 Fl Oz

I am 34 year old guy and was turned on to Origins products by my best friend when I was 22. She worked at an Origns store and was appalled at the time to learn that I was using Zest (bar soap) to wash my face. After using many Origins products religiously for the last 12 years, Checks and Balances remains one of my top 5 skin care essentials. Everything about it is pure heaven. The scent, the texture, the feel of your skin after use. It's a treat to use it each morning. I have combination skin and this product delivers exactly what it claims. It strips away the unnecessary oils and dirt from my face and doesn't leave my skin feeling dry or parched. I can attest after for than a decade of use that it really does protect your skin from all the free radicals bombarding it each day. It keeps my complexion clear and has played a large part in my youthful appearance. Many Origins products have a fruity scent to them and while Checks and Balances has a spearmint type scent it is clean and masculine and doesn't linger after you've washed your face. It has this amazing frothy/foaming action that allows you to use a small pea sized amount that, after water is added, transforms that small amount into enough frothy/foamy product to wash my face, my entire neck (guys you'll LOVE using this before you shave as it sooths and cleanses so well you can kiss razor burn goodbye), and even enough to wash my pecs and shoulders. I start at my forehead and work my way down and being 6'6" tall its usually is enough to wash my shouders and chest in addition to my face and neck ( if you're shorter it may very be enough to cleanse you from the waist up). This makes the price an amazing deal. Yes you spend on average $20-30 for the large tube, depending on where you purchase it however, the large tube will last more than 6 months and its a high quality product. As I've gotten older, out of curiosity I have tried other products from Dior, Kiehl's, Lancôme, and even lower end products like Burt's Bees, Olay Regenerist,and Aveeno to see if there was anything out there that I might be "missing". Nope...Check and Balances is the real deal. I will never stop using this product unless they stop making it, or I pass on. I seriously reccomend it to everyone who tells me I look so young for my age or asks what sort of products I use. I give co workers samples because I am so satisfied and in love with the product. If you're curious, but hesitant to spend the money on it I strongly suggest going to an Origins store, or a retailer who carries Origins products (Nordstrom, Macy's, Sephora) and ask for a sample. You will fall in love the first time you use it and will be running back to the store to buy it. It's that good, and in 10 years you'll thank me. (I know this is supposed to be a review for Checks and Balances only..but I reccomend almost every Origins products..they absolutely amazing!)

Love this frothy facial cleanser! A pea sized dot makes a ton of refreshing lather. My skin felt clean, soft, and not dried out like some cleansers. It also easily removes makeup. Barely noticeable fragrance. I don’t like fragrance on my face.

A while ago I bought this soap at a mall and I really liked how it left my facial skin, soft, not at all greasy, and when I moved to another state I couldn't buy any more and I didn't remember the name of the soap brand, only after searching a lot I found it and I definitely bought it again and I was not disappointed, it continues to leave my skin very clean and what I like the most is that it doesn't leave my skin greasy at all since I have oily skin, it doesn't give me allergies, I have used many other soaps and I really love this one and the best thing is that it really lasts a long time because with each wash only a little bit is enough.. me gusta mucho !!!

today is june 17th 2025 and according to amazon, the last time i ordered this product was August 8th 2024. I use it every single day and i'm just about ready for a re-order. it takes a pea-sized dab to get your entire face extremely clean and fresh feeling. My skin looks and feels amazing after use, no greasiness at all. It may be 40 bucks, but for it to last almost an entire year with such effectiveness, it's a bargain. some things are just worth spending a little extra money on because in the long run, you'll save money AND it's just such high-quality facewash that it's worth it. get it!

I love this face wash because it leaves my face feeling fresh and clean. A little goes a long way too. I use a pea size amount since it froths into more when applying. I bought a 8.5 once bottle it lasted me for over 9 months while using it 2 times a day. My face has always had some acne but after using this product my face is clear.

Checks and Balances is notable for a clean feel without harshness. I’m a dude who spends very little on skincare, but this stuff has me sold. I’ve used it for years and think it’s well worth every penny.

Really like this cleanser except for the price. A tiny bit foams up well, and it helps prevent blackheads. It does cause peeling, mostly on my nose. The fragrance is pleasant.

My favorite cleanser! Soft and creamy, does a great job of cleaning off makeup and doesn't dry out my skin. I'm also prone to breakouts but my skin stays pretty clear using this.
