The Boogie Sucker expert says Get this Bulb!
There is nothing on the market that compares to the Boogie Bulb! NOTHING! I would know because I feel as if I've purchased most of them. However it hasn't always been a smooth road with this Nasal Bulb. This was the first bulb I used and at first it was more than efficient. Every booger was sucked out in an aggressive manner and my baby didn't seem to mind it. Im talking massive, nasty hard boogers. Then gradually I noticed that my baby was getting upset while I was using the bulb. My Husband suggested that it probably is causing my son pain when sucking out the large boogers. Ok. I told myself I would only use it in dire circumstances. Then not shortly after that, I smelled something foul and opened the bulb to find mold. I hadn't had the bulb that long (about two weeks) and had washed it twice, while letting it air out (First time mom here! I just didn't have the energy to wash it every time or even every other time). I threw it away immediately and wallowed in my guilt of being a horrible mother for sticking that moldy product in my son's nose. This sent me on a mission for a new nasal bulb and I ended up purchasing the following: Pediatrician Choice Baby Nasal Aspirator (similar to nosefrida), Safety 1st Newborn Nasal Aspirator, and NeilMed NasaBulb Nose Aspirator. The Pediatrician Choice Baby Nasal Aspirator didn't have a suction that could even come close to the Boogie Bulb and that's with me sucking the hardest I could (Which made me uncomfortable). It seems it would work well for snot but not for those hard boogers that seem to clog my son up. Not to mention, there is a lot of gross bacteria that live in your nose. (MRSA) This nasal aspirator had no filter but instead had the snot dispersed into a container. So essentially you are still inhaling bacteria. No wonder people complained about getting sick from their children. In the end, the lack of suction made this product useless. Also, it would involve MORE cleaning because part of the product goes into your mouth. Not something that can exactly be shared. The NeilMed NasaBulb Nose Aspirator also had the similar problem of not providing enough nose suction. I would be able to see the boogers in my son's nose but it just couldn't get the job done. I also felt that the way this product was shaped, made it easier for the bulb to go further into the nostril. This was something I was trying to avoid, as it can damage their nasal cavity. The Safety 1st Newborn Nasal Aspirator is a close replication of the NeilMed NasaBulb aspirator. Therefore I had the same problem of no suction. Therefore I went back to the boogie bulb with reservations and some new found tips. First off, I purchased multiple Boogiebulbs with the intent of throwing them away when they started to get nasty. So far I have had no problems with the second bulb I've purchased and have not needed to throw it away. It has been two weeks and I've cleaned it once. I used the small skinny brush that comes with bottles to clean the neck and let it thoroughly dry. Also, after I use the Bulb, I disassemble it so that it has the opportunity to dry out. I have had zero problems with mold since I have begun doing this. In regards to my son's crying during the usage of the bulb, I began using nasal saline before I suctioned his nose and we have no problems anymore. A couple drops in each nose is enough to soften the boogers. In the end, its definitely worth purchasing just for you to be able to judge for yourself.

Still works great after about 6 months!
I've seen a lot of recent negative reviews for this bulb, and not sure why – perhaps they changed the way the product was made? We will see because I just got back on the Amazon as I am wanting to order a second bulb. I am a NICU nurse, and having a bulb syringe that had strong suction and that I could clean well for my daughter was a must, so this bulb has been a lifesaver! I have not had any issues with it leaking. my daughter (now 15 months) is able to pull it apart when she's playing with it, but I have never had the issue of it coming apart while I'm using it. I put my pointer and middle finger as a V shape surrounding the pointer/suction portion, and my thumb on the bottom middle of the syringe. Using it this way, I'm not even sure how it would come apart? (And this is how you should use it, much more smooth and effective)Is this bulb expensive compared to others? Of course. But it's worth it! Hopefully this is the only bulb syringe that I will ever need (only getting another one for back up) I can clean it and not have to worry about mold spores getting into my daughter's nose when she is already under the weather. If on the off chance they changed the way that this bulb syringe was manufactured, I will update my review within a few days – otherwise, you should get this syringe if you are a clean freak mama like me who hates wasting money on cheaper products over and over again!* Sidenote: when we first got the syringe, it did take some work to get it together at first, but it's a quick learning curve and once we figured it out, it was much easier and faster!

Works and is cleanable, what else can you ask for?
My daughter has been in daycare since she was 3 months old, she's 6 months old now and has pretty much been sick ever since she started. At first we had a collection of the bulb syringes you get from the doctor's office, but a couple of weeks ago we were on our last one and I refuse to use one longer a a couple of weeks due to the horror stories I've heard from other moms about the mold growth inside those things. So I started searching for a replacement. The reviews on this were pretty good and the idea that you can clean it is what appealed to me most, so I ordered it and I'm glad I did. This thing is really easy to clean and put back together and when you do the suction is the same (provided you follow the instructions of course). I feel so much better knowing I can open this thing up and clean it out everyday than just hope mold hasn't started growing in there. The only thing I didn't like about it this particular one is that the tip is kind of small. Don't get me wrong, if you have a newborn or a smaller baby, this will work great for you, but a bigger baby or toddler, this one will probably be a bit on the small side. That being said, I like it so much I ordered the bigger one after about a week of use.Bottom line, I'd totally get this again, well maybe just the bigger one, but nevertheless the product is great.

Best one out there!!!
I dont normally leave reviews on purchased items but I was that impressed with this!My son is 11 weeks old and we live in rural mountain countryside on a ranch... the amount of dirt and dust In the air is crazy and it's also very cold right now...we have an air purifier and humidifier in his room but he stil gets pretty snuffly because of these things and he hates it! It makes him really upset and frustrated! I've gone through 5 different brands of these and the hospital one he came home with-- hands down this works better than any I've tried. The suction is amazing and capable of actually pulling all the junk out of his nose whereas the other ones were a fight to get ANYTHING out. The fact that you can take it apart and clean it is amazing. It lasts longer and doesnt end up getting gross and smelling nasty like these do. This is the 2nd one I've bought cause my puppy ate the first one, lol. But they work amazing. I'd reccomend this to anyone and everyone!

This comes apart for cleaning
I find this comes apart during use. I like the idea of being able to clean it easily but it needs to do the job first.
