Effective: the DEET concentration seems to hit the sweet spot
Bought this after doing some research on DEET concentrations. Turns out 40% is right in the optimal range - anything above 30% doesn't repel bugs any better, it just lasts longer. Since I can reapply as needed, 40% gives me maximum effectiveness without the overkill of 100% formulations that can damage gear and aren't necessary. Used this extensively fly fishing in New England this soring - streams, ponds, early morning and evening when bugs at their most. And, not bites, not one: mosquito, black fly, or tick bite, which is saying something given how bad the bugs can get here, especially around water. The formulation feels less greasy than some of the higher concentration stuff I've tried, and I haven't had issues with it affecting my gear (though I still wash my hands after applying). Deet is notoriously tough on fabrics, and I would push this truism (testing the product), but it's as gentle & forgiving as I could hope. Lasts several hours before needing reapplication, which is perfect for a day on the water. If you're looking for something that actually works without going overboard on concentration, this is it. The science backs up why 40% is plenty, and my experience confirms it. Would buy agai

No unwanted pests
Even though I bought this product 5 or 6 years ago, today was the first day I used it. I decided to go shooting at a nearby Wildlife Management Area that is heavily wooded, high grass, and there is both standing and flowing water near the area I go shooting. So today I remembered to take this with me and used it since the ticks in my area are at their highest in years. Usually I not only have to constantly keep swatting away deer flies and mosquitos, but also ticks. Well today I didn't have to worry about any of that and had a really good day out shooting and as the day continued to warm up and I began to sweat, the protection remained. You can't go wrong with 40% DEET, when all your other top brands at the time I bought this product were only offering 25% DEET in the products. All the years of using these other brands with less protection against pesky insects makes me wish I would have found this product sooner. I do see where these other brands have now started offering 40% DEET also, but after using the Coleman brand I will continue to use this brand and only this brand because I know it works. Pros: Cost, Ease of use, aerosol rather than spray pump, doesn't take your breath away like other brands when being applied, holds up well when sweating, literally kept everything from bothering me Cons: wish I would have used it sooner, wish I would have found this product years ago

Excellent Long-Lasting Protection
Great protection and long-lasting results! This insect repellent works amazingly well. The 40% DEET formula keeps mosquitoes and other bugs away for hours, even in hot and humid conditions. It’s easy to apply, doesn’t leave a sticky feeling, and provides reliable protection outdoors. Highly recommended for anyone who spends a lot of time outside or travels to areas with many insects. Excellent product!

No bites today
Each week I am eaten by biting flies especially around my neck. The bites are itchy and painful. We tried this for the first time today and we have no bites. I was out for 3 hours and I did did reapply it once.

Let's face it, Deet works!
I had to be outside out in the woods earlier this summer, but I brought Deet-based bug spray, so I was prepared. Not really, it was only 7% Deet and even after applying it all over myself numerous times I was still getting eaten alive by mosquitos. I think that the military issued bug repellent is 30% Deet so I was looking for something with at least that much of Deet in it. I know that Deet can cause some serious health issues, but it'll repel mosquitos and ticks, which can carry some nasty diseases too. I tried this repellent recently. On the first day I only applied a small amount to my exposed skin (arms, hands, neck, & forehead), and I had no problems on any of those areas, but the mosquitos still got me by biting through my shirt (my jeans were probably too thick). The next day I did the same and also sprayed a little bit on my shirt as well and I had no problems at all. A little really will go a long way with this stuff. I would imagine that it might be irritating so be sure to keep it away from your eyes. It smells pretty bad at first, but either I got used to it or, more likely, the smell mostly dissipates once it dries. If you want serious protection from insects, look at this or any other 30-40% Deet based repellent.

12.0 count is 2 cans - that both work great!
I'll give it a 5 because this stuff WORKS! Beware, though, that the 12.0 count package is in OUNCES, not cans. My 2-pack of 6-ounce cans is still good with me for this price. Drunk-buying me just needs to read the description better so I'm not initially disappointed. 😖😅😅

Heavy duty, worked great in the central american swamp
I took this down to Belize during the rainy season and let me tell you it worked. My friend who didn't want to use any got half a dozen bites the first night. I think I had one bite in 14 days. The second day we went to a very off the beaten path swamp area to see some ruins. The park ranger said it was best we did not enter the area today because it was so infested with mosquito. We covered ourselves with this stuff, put on head nets, grabbed palm fans as swatters and went in. If we stood in a beam of light that came through the trees we could see a HALO of mosquito swarming around the both of us but not landing to bite. They would land on our backpacks but they stayed several inches from our sprayed bodies. Swarms of them, the park ranger said there were enough to pick us up and carry us away. This is not an exaggeration, it was pretty scary to look at, so we just stayed out of the direct light so we didn't have to know how many there really were around us. The spray melted the finish off of my cheep sunglasses where it touched, literally bubbled up and peeled off. Also cosmetically damaged some other plastics on the backpack that it came in contact with.

Sirve demasiado.
