The texture of the product I think is perfectly fine, very smooth consistency . It dissolves great in my coffee…too me is doesn’t have a noticeable taste but…I used vital proteins collagen before this and I like that product better because I feel like I see more immediate results in my skin and hair.

I love this collagen powder. I have seen a difference in my skin and hair since I started using this product.

I have purchased this collagen on more than a few occasions and feel that the Doctor's Best brand is excellent quality as well as the best value. My skin is extremely sensitive and dries out very easily, particularly in the winter. I have noticed that since I've started taking this (in conjunction with the other supplements I'll list below), my skin feels much better and definitely retains more moisture. If I forget to take this regimen for a few days (though truthfully, it's just out of sheer laziness versus actual forgetfulness!), I can definitely FEEL a change. When taking it, the skin on body feel much more supple, and definitely smoother. While I do not have deep wrinkles on my face as of yet to say if it would effect those, feel that I have a "softer" appearance overall regarding fine lines.I take this first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, in conjunction with Liquid Hyaluronic Acid Joint Support Now Foods 16 Oz Liquid, Ester-C 1000 mg with Citrus Bioflavonoids American Health Products 180 VegTab and Good State Liquid Ionic Silica Supplement, (48 servings at 125mg each plus 2 mg fulvic acid). I blend this powdered collagen into flavored water, mixing with a fork. There are a few small clumps doing this, I personally am not bothered by this but perhaps others would be. I believe you have to take this, at minimum, 45 minutes before eating anything to allow it to absorb properly. I'm not a breakfast person so this is no issue. Overall, I would wholeheartedly recommend this collagen, ideally with the other supplements I have listed because I believe they work in conjunction with one another.

I purchased this for my hair- I lose a lot of hair while combing, curling- no thin spots but wanted to be proactive. After about 3 weeks I noticed a significant change-hair loss was much less. I had very short hairs around my forehead for years and since using this those hairs are growing. I have not noticed my hair being thicker but I do have much less hair loss.Nails seem to be growing faster but this was not something I was looking for..Taste I think is terrible-bovine, marrow? but I manage to drink it all although some times it does make me gag. I have not put in coffee or other beverage as I do not think it would mask the taste and I don’t want to ruin a good cup of coffee or other.I originally purchased this at a health care section at a local grocery store that was much more expensive.I will continue to use despite the taste. I use as directed. I have considered trying a similar product because of the taste but I manage to choke it down. It really works for me.

Collagen is a protein found in the skin and other connective tissue throughout the body. When collagen is digested, it is broken down into its amino acids just like any other protein. Then, those amino acids are used by the body to build the collagen it needs. Different types of proteins contain amounts of amino acids. Collagen is heavy in certain amino acids needed by the body to build collagen within the body.One question someone might ask is: If collagen is protein, then why can’t my body just make collagen from other sources of protein like chicken or meat? That’s a good question. Collagen contains a broad spectrum of amino acids; however, it contains heavy amounts of only certain amino acids. This composition of amino acids is much different than the composition of amino acids from the protein in chicken or meat. These heavier amounts of amino acids are then needed by the body to make its own collagen. Chicken or meat simply don’t have enough of these needed specific amino acids.I take this in the morning when I wake up. I put one scoop in a glass bottle filled with distilled water, cap it, and then shake it until it completely dissolves, which usually happens fairly quickly.
