Fram filters are the way to go.

Fram makes pretty good oil and air filters. (((I won't get sidetracked into a long discussion why car makers can't standardize filters so that one filter could fit 50 different cars, not just one or two.))) I've used these for several years. They keep the air flowing into the engine clean, which is all they're supposed to do. I haven't had any that looked shoddy or "cheap" when opened. They all fit nice and snugly, as expected, so I'm not concerned about air flowing around the sides. If you're not an expert, my suggestion is that you only should change your AIR filter about every third time you change the oil and oil filter. If it still looks fairly clean (just take it out and look at it, it doesn't get wet-oily like an oil filter does), let it stay there another 1,000 miles or so. One side eventually starts looking dusty as it collects the crud in the air that it's keeping from mucking up your engine. I try not to give 5 stars for products that aren't perfect, but this is still pretty good. I checked Pep Boys, Autozone and Kragen (now O'Reilly), and Amazon's price is less by several dollars, and more with Subscribe & Save. So, I'm getting more.
