Good Manufacturing Practices for Soap and Cosmetic Handcrafters

This book tells you, and shows examples of what you should be doing for good manufacturing practices when making Soap & Cosmetics. There are some other minor chapters on Subcontracting, Returns policies and other topics, but the real value of this book is all in you learning the system of the first few chapters. If you are unsure whether you should buy this book, ask yourself: how much do you value improved quality in your products because you followed safety standards and good manufacturing practices. Does your family not care? Do you care if your home operation becomes more efficient? If you are selling your products then a book like this must be mandatory purchase.

This is a great book for the small soap or cosmetics business owner. It spells out in clear language the purpose of GMPs and provides detailed guidance on preparing documentation that will stand up to ever growing regulatory oversight.

These BS SOP's and GMP's made my head spin and your book spells it all out and makes it simple. I will be sharing a link to this book for EVERYONE on my upcoming "Makers" App. Anyone that makes any type of facial, body, herbal type product should have it!

Great help for starting to implement GMP on small scale production. A lot of things might seem kinda obvious but for a small handcrafter is pretty sweet to have guidelines to adhere to, so instead of having to think about how should I organize everything I have to think mostly on the content of my documents, which is nice when time is such a precious resource.

I thought I had it all together until I read this book. It is a must have for all soap and cosmetic handcrafters. The best thing about this book is Marie tells you it's ok, take your time, it will all come together but make it apart of your routine and daily or weekly activities to put these things in practice. I also like that she says at the beginning to read the entire book before you start anything.

Labeling is important for any business, while a good book the presentation could have been better.

Wow! Although, at this writing, I was living in Florida (and they have a ton of restrictions for bath and body product manufacturing), I thought I was in compliance with my business and kept mind-numbing records. I could not have been more wrong! I actually shut down my business so that I could fine tune everything and create the required Standard Operating Procedures and forms to make sure I was in compliance with government regulations. What a tremendous amount of work went into writing this book! I am so grateful! Thank you, Marie Gale! This is an absolute must have for all bath and body product manufacturers out there...especially made-at-home products!

It is a nice organized way to go through your soap business. It is a good read.

This book has allowed me to set up a roadmap to help me get my cosmetics business operating in a consistent and safe manner. If you intend to take your soap and lotion making any further than a hobby, this book is a must have.

This is a great book to read and learn about GMP. It explains very well what documents are needed to manufacture your own comsetics.

I have not put it into use . So, i still don’t know anything about it
