TeraFlex 3442002 Ball Joints (Premium JK Dana 30/44 Ball Joint Kit)

If you're on the fence about buying these ball joints, let me assure you they're worth their weight in gold! I installed a Teraflex leveling kit for my 2015 Wrangler JKU and immediately started to experience an occasional death wobble. I was told by my wheel alignment shop that my tie rod ends and ball joints checked out fine. Since my ball joints "were fine" I decided to install a Teraflex adjustable track bar front and rear but that didn't fix the issue. I debated new tires because they're 4 years old, but decided to take the cheaper route and bought the Teraflex Ball Joints. I always had a shimmy in the steering wheel at all speeds and now a severe wobble in the 45-52 mph range. As soon as I drove the Jeep down the block with the new ball joints installed I knew right away the problem was fixed. No low speed shimmy no death wobble in the 45-52 mph range. Just a rock solid steering wheel. If you have a wobble in the front end, get off the fence and buy these Teraflex HD Ball Joints....IT'S THE BALL JOINTS!! Also, the photos in the description are the old style joints, I received the newer ball joints with the dual grease Zerks on the lower joint.

I am super impressed with these ball joints. Easy to install with great directions and a killer step-by-step YouTube video. Your shopping trip is over. YOU NEED THESE IF YOU HAVE A JEEEP JK !!! I am rolling on 35 inch tires and they are holding up well. I have yet to require adjustment on these. TERA FLEX, PLEASE TAKE MY 💰.

2017 JK with Dana 30. I only have a out 50 miles on them, and I don't know if these are better or worse than other heavy duty ball joints for the JK, but it's like I got a brand new Jeep. Steering is tight, road feel is incredible, no more hop when I hit a rough patch, and no more wandering steering. It is not an easy job. Got a loaner press from a chain auto parts store. Can't use impact tools for the press or you will bend it. If you can find a heavy duty press it will be much easier. Broke hub bolts with breaker bar. That cost me two hub bearings, but I actually feel better having the new parts. I understand now that heating the ears of the hub after applying penetrating oil might allow the 3 bolts to be removed without breaking them. Good luck. Very very much worth the effort.

I saw a few reviews with folks having issues with these. I don't review a lot and want to help the next person out with what they are buying if I can. I bought these from Amazon and didn't get any deals. I have had great luck with these on my heavily modified JKU with 37s. I was in a bind before a wheeling trip and they arrived right on time. I installed them myself. Make sure you have the right cup for your ball joint press. Some of the standard kits don't fit JKs without extra adapters. I took my sweet time, followed the instructions, got them aligned just right, and double checked all my work. One of them ended up binding up after I installed it. I called Terraflex and supprt dude I talked to was really good and helpful. Ended up popping off the spindle, then reinstalled and checked the torque of both sides with no problems. Went wheeling on a badge of honor trail that weekend with no issues. The real test was about a month later we took the trip from the Pacific NW to the Artic Ocean through Canada. That's a lot of miles on some rough road. To make it even more sporty, we found out when we got to Inuvik that there was a gap in the road maintenance on sections of The Dempster making parts of it even more rough than normal. I just went through everything in my drivetrain for a second time since returning and found absolutely no play in these ball joints. I know Dtracs are the gold standard but I would recommend these to save a few $ for a solid product depending on your build goals and use. The grease zerks seem like they would be hard to get to on the bottoms. With the axle in the right orientation, it's actually pretty easy. I can't seem to get standard grease gun end on the front one, but the back works great. Make sure you pay a lot of attention to the orientation when installing these. The couple cons is the silly little spanner socket and the set screws. It's tough to get a bite for recommended 70 in/lbs without the spanner socket slipping off. I have not had issues with the set screws and they did come loose for me this time after a few months installed to check the after breaking them in. I can see them being an issue a couple years down the road with corrosion if they need retightened. If that happens, it's not going to be an easy fix since they are not easy to get access to when everything is together.

Got death wobble? Your buddy tell you running 35's will be fine on your OEM ball joints? Considering these ball joints with others in an oversaturated aftermarket? Let me clear the muddy water for you. Get these. My OEM ball joints were shot, and I wheeled with those same OEM ball joints for entirely too long. After MONTHS of research, talking with a few friends that own shops and JK's- I went with these. My only mistake was not upgrading sooner. Teraflex really impressed me on several levels. Firstly, the packaging is phenomenal. Every ball joint has its place in a custom hard foam fit box, all the serkis fitting for grease and hardware is included. Secondly, they're STOUT! My buddy asked me what I was planning for when he saw them, and I confidently replied "whatever I throw at them." Lastly, THEY'RE ADJUSTABLE. Why's that a big deal, you ask? Because on solid axles, with traditional ball joints, you're stuck with the camber/caster angle the ball joints give you. With these, you can appropriately adjust so that your wheels are perpendicular with the road and parallel to one another. Looking forward to whatever adventures these ball joints see me through. No more death wobble, no more anxiety when driving, and no more issues thanks to Teraflex. Install wasn't bad at all. Very good quality- do a little research on the tricks to successful install and pay attention to how the zero fittings on bottoms will line up-this will save u lots of headache. I stripped one of my zerk fittings when screwing it in, I called Teraflex customer service and got great service from Jane - nice to see a company stand behind its product These ball joints are definitely an upgrade over stock

Great product, beefy, easy to install, made my driveline vibrations almost disappear (rebalance and alignment took care of the rest). Definitely recommend these ball joints for someone loooking to accommodate a lift and bigger tires over OEM (2.5” lift with heavy 35” mud tires).
