Stunning. Just stunning.
You ever get that feeling when you've spent a lot of money on something and you're nervously anticipating whether it is going to be value for money or not?One of two things can happen - you're either bitterly disappointed or the nerves melt away, only to be replaced by a huge grin.I'm grinning, people, I'm grinning.I can't tell you how beautiful the craftsmanship is on this wok - you have to experience it. I got the biggest size because we always make "intentional leftovers" and yes, it's quite heavy, but with a bit of technique practice, you can toss food in it (Pro Tip: use raw rice to practice!).The infrared burner on my gas grill hits 980°C (1800°f) and after seasoning, I was able to cook the best nasi goreng of my life in this wok, full on Asian style fried egg straight after, then shrimp chips. The second dish was a chicken fried rice, with both raw thighs and poached breast - nothing sticks to this wok, no matter how high the heat - if you use it right of course, but I can't imagine too many novices investing in something this nice.It is an absolute delight to use and makes authentic cooking so easy. The handle is comfortable and provides a great grip.It cleans and seasons beautifully after use.I swear, my friends have severe wok envy. Personally, I don't see it like that - I don't believe one can ever own a functional piece of art like this. I can only care for it until it passes into somebody else's custody after I pass.Apologies for the philosophical review, but this is the embodiment of centuries of tradition, it is art, it is craft, heritage. It is not popping into John Lewis to see what they've got on Sale.

One hell of a won
Best f*#*#**g wok I’ve ever owned. The thing is beautiful. Is it expensive? Hell yes it is. There are definitely cheaper options out there. But if you got the cash, and want one hell of a wok, get it.I honestly can’t tell you if it really was hand hammered. It certainly looks like it. But without buying it directly after seeing it hammered in person, I’m not sure there is a definite way to say either way. I would like to believe it is. Sure as hell better be for the price..lolIt’s a bit heavy I guess. Mine is just shy of 5lbs I believe. But I can toss stuff in it no problem. So that’ll depend on your own personal arm strength. Good solid one pice handle. Can’t foresee that ever coming apart. The rubber grip will go long before the handle does. Also the rubber handle works well at staying cool. I mean closer to bowl it’s warm, but fine where you hold it.Shipping took a bit, but I live in Hawaii, so everything always takes a bit longer. No fancy packaging, but who cares. It’s a wok. It did come with a really nice cloth bag with company logo that’ll I’ll have to figure out something to do with. So that is cool. Pillow case maybe. Thing is huge. The whole wok fits in it..lolI ordered the seasoned one, and the directions said to clean it with steel wool to get factory oils off. I didn’t do that though, as I feared steel wool would take the seasoning off. Thus defeating the purpose of paying extra for it. Just took a new dish scrubber and soap and scrubbed it really good a few times. Seemed to work just fine. Then dry, heat, more oil, and sauté some veg and throw away to get all the lingering stuff out. Another quick wash, no soap, more heat, more oil. Done.As far as non stick, you must realize that it takes time to build up enough layers till it’s totally amazing. Out of the box and cleaned it stuck a bit, but nothing hot water and a plastic scraper didn’t fix. If you don’t know what you are doing, and you don’t plan on taking care of this the right way. Then save ya money and buy something cheaper. So ya, I’m stolked on this bad boy. It’ll be around long after I’m gone : ) and whoever gets it, better freakin love it. I’ll have to add it to my will..lol.. if you do order one, I hope it shows up just as nice as mine did. Absolutely no complaints

An Excellent Wok with Great Craftsmanship.
This is my first time owning a carbon steel wok. Unboxed and really appreciate the beautiful hand hammered crafted Wok. No doubt slightly on a heavier side of 2.0kg for a 32cm wok but it sit quite stable on the stove. After going through all the steps in cleaning as per the instructions, I managed to perfectly cooked an egg without sticking and followed by fried vegetables and fried Mee Hoon using the wok. The vegetables tasted so crunchy and sweet. Believe with more practice should be able to improve with better control on the fire and the usage of the wok. A high quality & excellent Wok highly recommended if you are those who like cooking and love owning an excellent craftsman’s works.
