Parvana’s Journey (Breadwinner Series, 2) Paperback – May 1, 2015

This one tore my heart out. It was so sad. The main character lives on, though, and I am hooked on this story so I’m off to read the next book.

My daughter enjoyed this book at lot.It helped her understand what life is in Afghanistan.

It’s great book for middle school students . My child love to read over an over again.

I read this with my eleven year old grandson. The story is real, the people are very real, and it helped both of us have a better understanding of what was and is going on in Afghanistan.

This is the sequel to The Breadwinner . My sixth grade English class reads this series every year and it is wonderful. You will fall in love with the main character, Parvana.

My daughter and I loved this series and could not put it down. It was such a realistic portrayal of a young girl growing up in war torn Afghanistan. It was poignant and stirring. The characters are beautifully developed. Extremely well written.

I'm a teacher who assigns this book to my students to read. The school doesn't provide the books so I buy them myself for my students. I like the used books for a better value. Fantastic book. Kids like the story and it is a great way to start a discussion about culture, freedoms, rights, values and how lucky Americans are. Good historical background on the Taliban. Make sure you also get the next three books in the series.

Excellent book describing life from a child's standpoint, and why the unconscionable greed from adults wanting to be the chief is evil at all levels and sides of life is the true culprit. Weapons manufacturers, wannabe dictators and cult leaders, corrupt politicians - what if this was your daughter? You send us to war instead and have us come home with a lot of problems the government is slow to deal with. I hope you are enjoying your blood-stained wealth..

This beautiful book really makes you understand how Afghan people have been living for decades... such hard life! Better than the first book (the breadwinner).
