Benefit of being Airtight is that it prevents Moisture from getting inside the container, especially during Rainy Season, thus prevents the growth of Fungus on the items stored inside the box.I use several different sizes of Lock&Lock container to Store my Costly DSLR Camera Lenses ,Electronic Gadgets that are prone to being damaged by Fungus growth.This particular Size of 16 Litres Container is the BEST OPTION to store BIG LENS like my Nikon 200-500 mm f/5.6 Lens,with 95mm Nikon NC Filter attached and the Lens Hood kept beside the Lens. A few other small items too can be stored alongwith this Big Lens, like 50mm or, 105 mm f/2.8 Lens.I previously tried to keep this Big Lens in the Lock&Lock 12 Litres Container, but it was a bit smaller insize, so opted for the 16 Litres Size, which is the best fit.I have been using Lock&Lock Airtight Containers from last four years to store my Lens/ DSLR Camera etc. and the Lids are very good quality as after thousands of time opening and closing, they still are working perfectly, without any sign of cracks or breakages.
