Excellent mount, buy from Semsons & Co., Inc. to ensure you get the tether-read my comments below.
Bought this for my 98 electra glide. Works great so far. A couple of things: After reading reviews about not getting tether, I wanted to make sure whoever I got mine from included this. I saw Semsons & Co., Inc. had 100% feedback, so I called their customer service number and the woman I spoke with confirmed that they only sell original RAM products packaged by RAM with everything that is included. So I went ahead and ordered from them. I received my package on time and everything (including the tether) was included. So those reading the reviews I highly recommend Semson's to buy from so you don't have to worry about not getting everything. Next thing is the rubber feet. Many stated they fell off or that the included glue didn't work. I had some crazy glue so I used that. The feet are on there nice and solid and after crazy gluing, I feel they will stay in place. I didn't bother using the included glue. Just my suggestion. Next thing are the nylon bolts. Many said they were junk, painted poorly, etc. I think they are fine for what you get. Just be sure to use the proper socket to install them and be careful when putting them on. Mine came new (not used), they installed fine, and none of the paint came off. If I had a con for this mount, it is that like many stated, I had to also move my phone down slightly in the mount so that the upper right foot did not rest on the side buttons. When I first put it in, it rested right on my power button and my phone turned off. After moving it slightly it is now fine and the foot is no longer resting on any of the side buttons (MOTO E 2nd gen). I know that this may concern you seeing the phone isn't centered in the mount, but with the tether it was held in secure. I only got to use it on one ride so far (3hr ride), but it stayed in place and didn't move at all. The only other minor con is that RAM doesn't include any mounting/installation instructions, only a brochure for other products and a one page picture brochure explaining how to use the tether. It isn't rocket science to install it and common sense should be all that you need to figure it out, but for those that rely on instructions, they might not be pleased. Overall I am satisfied with this mount and would not hesitate to buy one in the future. Now I just need to figure out which beverage mount I want to get for the other side of the handlebars.

Perfect
This is hands down the most perfect phone mount I have ever purchased. Easy to install on any bike you ride and will hold securely at highway (and faster) speeds multiple hours and days at a time. Great even on crappy Oklahoma roads or windy Arizona highways.

Ram mount
I think the Ram mount is a little expensive, but it works great! It took me a long time to pull the trigger on this, and I did only after a lot of research on-line. So, for the $50 I paid for this, it works great! The mounting to the handlebar is straight forward with an 11mm wrench. I wish it came with a second mounting option for the dashboard so I didn't have to spend another $40 for a second mount just to get the base. Anyway, the arm can be completely articulated to pretty much any viewing angle, up high or lower, left right, or wherever you desire. The X Grip is great, it squeezes my phone without causing damage or anything like that. I did have to get used to putting the phone in the right spot so the mounts did not push the buttons on the side of my iPhone though. The rubber webbing provided is a little cumbersome to put on at first, but once you get used to it, it really isn't that bad. I have not dealt with this yet, but I am sure I will in the next few weeks as the weather begins to turn colder here in Colorado. I have heard some folks have tightened the arm onto the bar mount while the weather was cold in the morning, and found that the arm was unbelievably tight after it warmed up and the ball mount expanded inside the arm mount. Not really a bad thing, but if it is over-tightened in the cold, and expands in the heat of the day, the nylon/plastic type material may fail. The cons I have only really include the lack of security for the mount itself (arm and X Grip portion). The ball portion is bolted on, so there is no issue there. However, the extension arm with the wing nut to mount the X Grip to the bar mount is very easily taken off. So, you stroll out to the bike and tighten the mount onto the ball on the handlebar, throw the phone in the X Grip, and wrap the rubber retainer around the phone. On the road, there are no issues. You want to make a quick stop at the market, but without a security feature on the mount itself, you hesitate, because you don't want to leave your $50 mount unattended while you run in the store (of course you take the phone with you). I'm a security freak, so these are the things I worry about when I ride through and make stops in the city. Country rides, or group rides, not so much, we mostly leave our helmets on the bikes as well, but alone, I get to worrying. I am sure I could rig something up or replace the wing nut with a more permanent bolt in a few minutes, but it would be nice to have that come from the factory for the price.

Solid grip, has some downsides.
Pros: So, the grip itself holds the phone pretty well, no complaints there. I love you can set up the phone positioning in any way you like, I also like that just about every part of the phone grip is replaceable so you dont have to get a whole new grip if a part fails on this one. Cons: The rubber grips for the pivoted arms need to be glued on and RAM provides the glue in the package, though it is easy to get clue on the outside of the rubber pieces ruining the aesthetic. They are also very generous on the amount of glue provided. Question is - why not glue those down at the factory? You will sell the money on extra glue as well and save customers extra work. Also, the pivot ball is tightened by 2 springloaded plates and doesnt much like to stay in place. It tends to tilt the phone when im riding hard in twisties, and the way it is designed only allows for so much tention on the ball (or maybe its just mine). The grip is also a bit tall. That allows for more adjustment forbwhere you would like to mount it on the bike but on my MT09 it sits right in the middle and comes all the way out a half tank. This should be customizeable. The rubber piece - this extra security feature while nice, is not very high quality. The large one barely stretches over my Galaxy S8+ and the case. Also, most of my friends own the grip, and all of them have the rubber piece torn by now. I find myself seldim using it as the phone grip does the job on its own very well. Summary: its a solid grip, one of the better ones on the market, and i really wanted to give this 5 stars but can't. At least not for this revision.

A solid mount
I use this thing at least 4 times a week and I love it. It mounted to my handlebars on my bike easily and it lets me adjust my phone in almost infinite angles to get it where I need to see it as it records my routes and displays my pace. This is essentially 3 pieces of RAM mount gear in one package. The U-Bolt clamp is great for handlebars or even rearview mirrors. It may be useful on other things also but I’ve only used it on those 2 things. Make sure to tighten equally and don’t over tighten or you could risk crushing something. It is very sturdy though. The arm here is a mid-length arm that’s great for bikes. I have other lengths for other uses in cars and such. It’s a pretty sturdy couple pieces of metal essentially with an easy to turn plastic capped nut. It works great and doesn’t move even on rough terrain. The holder itself is sturdy and keeps my phone even on moderate off-road courses. I have my phone in a rubberized case so that helps with keeping it in place. The only times its fallen out were when I had the phone wrapped in a zip-lock bag as a poor man’s waterproofing, and when I had a major wipeout and got launched off of my bike. I got a waterproof case for rainy days and I try to avoid anything that will make me launch off the bike and through the air, and my phone stays solidly in place. The mount allows the phone to rotate slightly so if you don’t get it quite right when you tighten the arm you can adjust the phone if needed but it is firm and won’t flop around. I’m so happy with this that I’m ordering another for my wife’s bike and a U-bolt so that I can mount this easily onto my other bike. Once you have the RAM mount brackets installed in your car, bikes, motorcycles, or whatever you can easily move the arms and device mounts in seconds. I have RAM mounts to mount my phone, GoPro, GTech, and other devices in my vehicles and they have all served me well.

High Quality & Total Peace of Mind
Despite the fact there are literally dozens of smartphone mounts to choose from, if quality and peace of mind are your top priorities then look no further than a RAM mount. Though I (very briefly) debated going with a well-reviewed alternative at roughly half the price, I then considered two things: 1. the cost of my smartphone (roughly $1,200 new) 2. the incalculable value of anxiety-free riding Let’s face it, there’s really no better option than the RAM mount: superior design, high quality construction + USA built, extremely versatile. The moment you unbox the RAM mount and tinker with the tightening bolt and various positions, it’s immediately apparent how much thought and engineering went into building it. I’ve ridden roughly 250+ miles now, and not once have I felt an ounce of concern. And if we’re being honest, the ONLY REASON to go with anything else comes down to just one factor: PRICE. Sure, dropping $50+ on something like this does seem a bit excessive, but then again, so is the cost of a new smartphone. But ultimately for me it came down to peace of mind. Riding a motorcycle is dangerous enough without the potential for taking your eyes off the road to examine whether your phone is in fact secure in the $25 Made-in-China, afterthought-of-a-smartphone mount. Between the road conditions, the cross traffic, the tailgater, the traffic lights, and our lane position, our brains are processing enough data as is — and it hardly seems worth trying to save a little bit of cash if the result is even the slightest potential of ANOTHER distraction... of our attention or focus being directed elsewhere. Just didn’t seem worth saving a few bucks. And then when you consider the fact it’s compatible with a whole system of various mounts, the fact you’re able to dial in all sorts of viewing positions to suit both your bike and the type of riding you’re doing, and finally... the fact it’ll retain some value should you no longer need it and opt to sell it used. I’ve posted a couple pictures to try and demonstrate it’s versatility and build quality. Hope this helps any fellow riders!

Simply does the job!!
Installation is very easy, intuitive and fast. Only 2 screws to tighten. It fitted perfectly on my scooter's mirror. I am riding with it for more than 2 weeks now and it seems to hold perfectly. Even on bad roads with bumps and holes. It allows multiple angle adjustments with a smart spring system to hold one end tight when loosening to adjust. I recommend always to use the rubber spider thingy that goes from the back of the phone for added caution. Oh and it comes with 2 sized U-bolts for different sizes. This way I used the small one to fit on my mirror. My scooter is SYM Joyride200 My phone is Samsung Galaxy A5 (with a medium case) EDIT: 4 month update: By now I admit I got a little lazy and using alot less (ok, not at all) the rubber holder. The thing still works great! Again, even at highspeeds (~100kh) on bumpy roads phone stays put. It does tilt a little bit left-right from the freedom the springs has but that's not an issue. I DO HAVE TO NOTE: the way my phone is located (you can see in the pictures) it is set behind the big windscreen so high speeds doesn't create any pushing force by wind. I would recommend using the rubber on naked bikes/no wind screen.

I own an LG G5 and it works fine on that
The item arrived 2 days after I ordered it. It is so simple to install and is a very high quality product. I own an LG G5 and it works fine on that. I didn't have an 11 mm socket and had to use a crescent wrench to install it, and I foolishly put it to the side of the fork bolts that the speedometer was on. It somewhat obstructed my view, so I moved to the other side where it only partially obstructed my view of the tach. I also elected to use a thin layer of rubber over the U-bolt to protect the handlebar, and used a short piece of fuel line hose I bought at an auto part store. I slit it down the length of a thin 3" piece and wrapped it around the U-bolt with the opening facing outward, so the rubber is completely protecting the bar. The unit comes with two different sized U-bolts to accommodate different sized bars. This thing is so adjustable and so well made, I highly recommend it. My one word of caution is to repeat what one other reviewer said about the adhesive. Do NOT apply it over your bike. Use VERY sparing amounts. Wear rubber gloves. It will squirt out when you push the rubber tip down on the metal, and will get all over your fingers. And it will NOT come off without paint remover, etc.

Good design, handy holder.
Only issue i have is that the mount can swivel slightly a couple of degrees when tightened up with can unnerve you when travelling at 60mph. Otherwise perfectly good holder.

RAM Mount RAM-B-149Z-UN7U
Installato sulla mia Tracer 900 è molto stabile e tiene ben fermo lo smartphone. Comunque lo uso sempre con l'elastico di sicurezza.... La qualità sembra ottima ma il prezzo è molto elevato.

Phone is safe and secure
Very sturdy and reliable. Dont need to think twice about my phone wen mounted. Only complaint is that the grips or claws pivot a little when phone is secured. Not a deal breaker though.
