Douk Audio G4 Mini Subwoofer Amplifier, 100W Subwoofer&Full-Frequency Mono Channel Digital Power Amplifier

I bought this amp as it is a mono amp and all I want it for is to drive an old AV system centre speaker with a Chromecast Audio connected to it. I am pleased with the amp as it sounds good and it has also got a 'bass mode' switch that allows it to be used with a passive subwoofer.

Looking around amazon you some devices like this that don't come with a power supply. When you add the cost of the recommended one, the price becomes much greater than this device. It wasn't clear to my mind that this item would be any different. I took the chance and when the small box arrived I thought I may have lost the gamble. Opening the box however revealed a nice power supply with a UK plug that can deliver 19V to the amp. The amp itself is a lovely bit of kit for the money. If you want a single channel amp that you don't need to blow your ear drums, it will do the job. Nice to be able to use it in full range mode or sub woofer mode. In my case I have it connected to the subwoofer signal level output of a home cinema amp in full range mode connected to a passive sub woofer. This way, the amp can manage the signal filtering rather than having to fight the amp filtering. Works a treat. Hope it lasts.

I bought a set of matching speakers for my audio receiver and couldn't connect the subwoofer as it was passive. Looked online for a solution and it pointed me to one of these and it doesn't dissapoint. It works well and I think the specs say it can drive up to 200w. Your meant to use banana plugs but I just screwed the cable under the terminals until they turn up. If your looking for a good pre amp for a subwoofter trust me this is a really good option and well worth the money

Perhaps I am supposed to know how to use this but I like to know what I need to do and do it right. I used the point of sale description to check connections so have to assume that I didn’t make any mistakes. What I did was connect to a subwoofer output with a phono to phono cable, connected it to a suitable passive subwoofer and connected it to the power supply… and it didn’t work ! After double checking everything and checking again I had to admit defeat. This little amp has great reviews and seemed to be the best tool for the job of driving my subwoofer but apart from an occasional noise from the speaker, nothing was working. My stereo was sounding amazing but I had no music coming from my bass speaker. I have no idea what is wrong as there is no manual with a fault finder to tell me what is wrong. So it doesn’t work so I have the hassle of sending it back and looking for an alternative. This has been a waste of my time. I spent most of yesterday preparing cables and connections ready to install this little amplifier so today was totally disappointing when I realised it was duff. That seems to be how it is now, so many purchases don’t work and have to be returned and feedback reflects this. As for my wasted time, no refund for that is there?

I bought this not really expecting much from it but this thing really is amazing for the price really good quality sound amazing low pass filter switch for low pass on or off functionality really good at low and high volume and I never half it past 50% as that is really quite loud but the only thing you could take as a con in my opinion it does get a little warm when in operation for long periods of time but it’s nothing to worry about temp wise you could keep your hand on it indefinitely in you wanted to but it still works flawlessly regardless maybe put somewhere it can dissipate it’s heat rather than in an enclosed space

I got 2 of these to power a pair of modified Mission 760's as a desktop system. The G4 is a very powerful little mono amplifier and in full-range mode gives excellent sound quality with plenty of bass and dynamics. Incredible value that would compete with full-size amps costing many times more.

Needed this when I changed my 5.1 media center, which didn't have a sub-woofer amp built-in. Works well.
