Dermatologist Sunscreen SPF 30 Superior 5-star UVA protection (PPD: 39) by Dr Andrew Birnie, suitable for sensitive skin, 200 ml (Pack of 2), Period after opening 12 months

Wow! Where has this sunscreen been all my life? It's absolutely perfect for me. I have very reactive skin, prone to eczema when irritated, and cannot tolerate many sunscreens because of either the fragrance that inexplicably is added to most cosmetic products (despite fragrance being the commonest allergen and irritant, it is STILL added to many products advertised as suitable for 'sensitive skin'), or the drying high alcohol content in the more cosmetically elegant, high-end formulations. I also have rosacea, and have been advised strongly by multiple dermatologists that wearing a daily facial sunscreen is non-negotiable. I also wish to avoid the leathery, lined, age-spotted skin that comes with tanning and general sun exposure over the years and thus have spent years experimenting with various types of sun protection. Often in vain, due to the endless poor formulations on the market. Altruist sunscreen is almost a miracle product for me. It provides good protection from UVA and UVB rays, is cosmetically quite elegant and leaves neither chalky nor greasy residue on the skin and thus wears beautifully under make-up, and is actually non-fragranced and thus doesn't upset my skin, even the fragile facial skin. You get the faintest 'sunscreen' smell if you put your nose to your skin, but that's it. It's neither too thick nor too runny and sinks in easily, preventing irritation from endless rubbing of the skin. I can use it all over, even on the most sensitive areas prone to rashes and patches of eczema - decolletage, face and neck. It's also pleasingly cheap, especially compared to high end products. I paid £8.00 for two big 200ml tubes - even compared to the cheaper end of the sunscreen market this is an excellent deal. I'd recommend this to anyone who has problems with otherwise decent sunscreens due to fragrance and alcohol content. I will be using this product lavishly and buying more in the future.

Have been using this product for the past year, both on holiday in Spain and in the UK during the heatwaves of 2026 and it's been fantastic. I do not use sunscreen often as a black woman, but needed a product for my son to use whilst he was still at nursery which left no white cast on black skin and this does not disappoint. The value for money is incredible and I have used it on myself, my 4 year old, and given some to family and friends who are light to dark skin tones. Everyone has been impressed with the ease of absorbency, great protection, and most of all, that there is zero white cast. I highly recommend ALTRUIST and will only use this sunscreen from now on as it ticks all of the boxes.

This is the best suncream. Been using for years. Non greasy and feels like a normal cream on skin. Great for eczema and doesn’t aggravate it. Always repurchase from Amazon as good value.

I bought this sunscreen cause it was cheap and recommended by Dr Dray (whomst I stan). However, I have been thinking about people's reviews of this sunscreen saying that it can ball up, pill. And yes, I can confirm it can pill. However, I figured out that the best ways to prevent this is to rub the sunscreen as fast and aggressively as possible. Not like super aggressively to rub your skin off, but pretty decisively so to speak. Normally when I apply some kind of product I put blobs on different parts of my face and once I'm done, I'm rubbing the product to my skin. But with this sunscreen, I found out you should not do that. As soon as it is on your skin, it works fast, so it's best to put a blob of it on one part of the skin, then rub it in, then once you are done, move to another part of the skin. It's also important to wait for a while and not touch your face (which you should not be doing that much anyway) to let it dry out, and if there's any excess product, you just tap on it until it's gone. I also recommend not to apply any oil-based products like serums before applying this sunscreen cause oil and water do not mix (and this sunscreen is water-based). As you can see, this sunscreen is pretty fussy, but I think if you want to save your money, it's worth the struggle. After all, the trend is that most people buy expensive Asian 50ml sunscreens that take a month to ship and in the end, people don't apply enough sunscreen to reach its SPF on the bottle. But you need to re-apply sunscreen every 2 hours and you need to apply it liberally, not skimp on it. Except for these application problems, there's nothing wrong I can say about this sunscreen. Doesn't leave a white cast, it's moisturising and it's fragrance and alcohol-free. I recommend trying it out!

This cream is thick and easy to apply, and I feel it gives good coverage. I am happy with the protection it provides and believe it gives me the confidence to go out in the sun knowing I have shielded my skin against the damaging sun rays. I use both SPF 30 and factor 50 of this make when I am on holiday and out in the sun for expended periods. There is no discernible fragrance. I am happy to recommend it.

Since I came across with Altruist Sunscreen on a german skincare blog I was curious if those formulas are really different - and yes, they are! As a physician I appreciate the medical background of the formula and the whole story around it like the mission to reduce skin cancer and premature photo aging. Sometimes patients ask what is the best suncreen to use and I always reply: the one you like to use each and every day. It should offer high to very high UVA protection as well and feel comfortabel on your skin, the formula should not contain unnecessary ingredients and the filters should be state of the art. Quite frankly, Atruist Sun Cream SPF 30 and SPF 50 (got them both) are among the best suncreams I ever used or use. NO feeling of putting sunprotection on your face, more like a regular moisturizer. I can‘t believe the reviews where people say it stays on their skin for ages... not on mine. It literally vanishes in 5 minutes, no white cast at all - not even on a three day stubble. Enough moisture for the whole day, no tight feeling, when washing my face at nighttime skin feels soft and comfortable. I don‘t have a clue how someone could get burned with those products when use correctly... Three weeks heavy sunshine in May in Thailand and not once a problem.. of course I used as recommended. Best of all, no added perfume, kind preservatives and unbelievable value for money! The secret with suncare is to use it deliberately. It just doesn‘t make sense to spend a fortune for a little amount and then in order to save money use it sparingly. The SPF 50 did work very well on protecting a very sunsensitiv area on my right leg because of skin depigmentation (vitiligo). I appreciate especially the very high UVA protection those products offer. I did NOT order the sprays because of the high ammount of alcohol they contain. I personally don‘t like the feeling and think they will probably will dry out skin a bit. I hope Altruist will be on the market forever! Absolutely a 5 star product!

I have to say I’m not one to sit out in the sun at all!! I keep out of the sun when I can. But I wanted to use some uv protection on my skin as you are always hearing these days that you need to include it in your daily regime. I read all about the product and its ingredients and also their charity involvement. This stuff is amazing!! It has a great consistency and light enough that I can put it on after my daily moisturiser. This product is very moisturising in itself though and I notice the difference in the skin on my arms and skin after only using for two days. As o said I’m not sunbathing so the application lasts more or less all day. Im not sure how it works but it definitely keeps my skin hydrated. And a little goes a long way. Very affordable too for such sn amazing product. I will never use anything else now!! Only thing I would say and it’s not a complaint at all!! You need to let it sink in a bit before you apply your foundation which is understandable. I have reduced the amount I use on my face now to compensate for this and my skin feels soft literally all day. I’m hoping that using this on a regular basis will reduce the amount of freckles I usually get when exposed to the sun.

I purchased this product after being recommended it by a dermatologist to help with my PMLE rash that happened when I go on sun holidays .. I’ve had this rash every single time I’ve went on holidays since I was a child, I used this suncream in Thailand on holiday and for the first time ever I did not get a rash from the sun .. it’s completely changed my holiday experience and the fact it’s so cheap and doesn’t leave a white cast, non-greasy, doesn’t stain clothes are all just added bonuses. Couldn’t recommend more, especially for anyone with PMLE

Auf der Suche nach einer Sonnencreme für mein Gesicht bin ich auf diese hier gestoßen und habe sie mir aufgrund der doch großteils sehr positiven Rezensionen bestellt. Die Creme lässt sich wunderbar verteilen, es bleibt absolut kein klebriges Gefühl zurück, die Haut wird nicht gereizt und fettet auch nicht nach, wie ich das von anderen Sonnencremen kenne. Geruch gibt es absolut keinen, auch das finde ich, gerade im Gesicht, sehr, sehr angenehm. Auch Make-up ist danach ohne jegliche Probleme aufzutragen. Als Sonnencreme für den gesamten Körper habe ich sie noch nicht verwendet, weil ich noch andere zum Aufbrauchen habe, aber mit meiner guten Erfahrung im Gesicht gehe ich davon aus, dass sich die Creme am Körper gleich verhält. Für einen Zweierpack um diesen Preis absolut genial.

I burn very easily. I recently wore this every day on vacation and did not burn once! Amazing product!

Es muy muy agradable al tacto y se extiende con mucha facilidad, no me irrita los párpados, como hacen otras, y el precio es estupendo, el bote va a durarme mucho tiempo, estoy encantada. Repetiré seguro. Deja la piel con un aspecto satinado, no es grasa ni pastosa, deja un brillo muy sano. Tengo problemas de acné, pero no me ha hecho irritación ni me han salido granos de momento. Tuve un pequeño problema y es que me llegó un bote sólo, en lugar de dos, pero ya he hablado con Amazon y lo van a resolver. De todos modos, sigo estando muy satisfecha, y lo recomiendo.
