Very Good!
This adapter is made 100% of metal and came with a tripod mount as shown in the pictures (also made of metal). It works perfectly to convert Minolta MD lenses to my Sony NEX 5N. It may not be evident in the pictures, but the tripod mount is fairly sturdy. It is attached with two screws as mentioned in another review but they are securely fastened and all the parts ARE metal. I have a 75-300mm f/5.6 zoom lens in the MD mount that is pretty chunky, and the tripod mount supports it and the camera quite adequately. That's about the limit though. With a heavier lens, a lens collar would be better.Based on this purchase I will not hesitate to purchase other Fotodiox adapters for my NEX. Canon FD mount is coming up next!

The Perfect Matchmaker
To take the best of digital cameras and mate it with the best parts about shooting film, for me, being able to use my wonderful Minolta Rokkor lenses on my beautiful Sony NEX-6 was the perfect mating of digital and analog. I love the buttery smooth feel of a Minolta MD lens in my hands, and the results when paired with a Sony digital is wonderful. The balance is great, the feel is just about perfect, and the results are fantastic. The Fotodiox is one of the less costly MD to E-mount adapters out there, and it's very well made. A good quality piece, connects two very quality components and makes one heckuva digital mirrorless setup. Considering I have into all 8 of my Minolta prime lenses less than half the cost of one prime Zeiss E-mount lens (and the Minolta glass is widely loved), the cost of converting to manual lenses is worth it.I'll be looking at adding a Fotodiox Pentax K-mount adapter in the future to be able to use the rest of my Pentax SMCs on the Sony, as well. Couldn't be happier with the results. For ~$22, you can't beat it.

Works Great on Sony A7. Mostly works great with MC lenses
Adapter clicks right into the Sony A7 with no issues at all. I am using it with a Minolta 58mm !.2 lens, and once the adapter is on, it works amazingly well. There is almost no wiggle, and it fits very nicely. A few small issues, though:1) The red dot on the MC lenses do not line up with the dot on the adapter. You have to put it on at a different place.2) The adapter can get a little stuck on the lens and needs a bit of help to get it off. This is not a massive issue for me, because this is the only Minolta lens I will be using with it. But, if I had several, it would be a bit of a hassle to stick something inside the adapter to push a little bit of metal back to allow the lens to detach.Overall, great adapter, though. Focuses to infinity very well, and I used it all day at a wedding yesterday with no issues.

Works great
I use this with my Sony A6000 and a Minolta 400mm lens and it works great. No issues with the mount being too loose/tight. It goes on like a normal Sony lens and its not all floppy if i hold the camera without supporting the lens. Seems well built, it’s all metal and I haven’t had any issues like paint flaking off. I’ll update this if I run into any problems after using it for awhile but so far so good.

Minolta MD to Sony Nex Lens Adapter by Fotodiox
After buying a similar adapter that only worked with aftermarket lenses but not with original Minolta lenses, I decided to try this one from Fotodiox in Waukegan, Illinois, available through Amazon. It arrived in very good time, was exactly as shown, and fit all my lenses perfectly, both Minolta and non-Minolta lenses made for Minolta. In addition, the compatibility of the lenses with the Sony NEX series body was very good. The lenses perform just as well as they did with 35mm SLR bodies in terms of image resolution and coverage area. Due to the smaller size of the Sony camera, the balance between the larger zooms and telephoto lenses is not really as good as it was with the more substantial older cameras, but this adapter works extremely well with the more normal size lenses, such as fixed focal length of 100mm or less.

Does *NOT* work on Sony A7 series cameras
This title is WRONG. Does *NOT* mount to Sony a7 series cameras. Does not work on my a7S. Tried two of them. I ordered the first, and when I went to put the MD lens on that I wanted to use, it doesn't even turn/fit on the a7S. Thought maybe it was a mistake, ordered a replacement, still does not work, still cannot use my lens. Expectations not met.

Great piece of gear but too heavy.
As described. Works well and all-round good adaptor. The only reason for the low star rating is the weight of this adaptor. Id rather pay more for something that was a little lighter. The adptor weights more than the lens itself. Combined weight of adaptor and the lens is more than the camera body. Kinda defeats the purpose of going light mirrorless setup.

very impressive hunk of metal
I have a Sony Nex-5n and three older Minolta MD lenses and bought this adapter on a whim. I am very impressed by its heft and nice fit on my 5n - much nicer than a Canon EOS adapter I bought over a year ago. For the record, I have tried this adapter with a 50mm F1.7, a 28-85 Macro lens, and a 250mm mirror lens, all Minolta-branded equipment. I don't know that I will really use any of these lenses instead of my e-mount lenses - the 250mm mirror lens looks and feels cool but I don't think the optics are as good as my Sony 55-210 zoom. It is difficult to focus these old lenses even with the electronic viewfinder - if you are buying an adapter to use an old telephoto you will need the electronic viewfinder for sure.
