We bought several items to give to a family, and this was one of them. They loved every item. Very pleased with the purchase.

This was gifted to my grandson, on his 6th birthday. Shortly after unwrapping his gift, he assembled it. It was by no means easy to construct. However, after a bit of time, he was able to construct this project, all by himself. I would have to say that finding the small pieces, while assembling, was the hardest part of the task. My grandson loves Legos. Not only does he complete various, challenging toys, he spends endless hours playing and reconstructing them into different things. For a first time assembly of this Lego toy, the illustrated booklet is very well done, teaching a child how to follow directions, to complete the project. If you can follow pictures, read numbers, and distinguish different shapes, younger children can complete it. Sometimes, though, a younger child's fingers have a hard time maneuvering the pieces into place.

Okay so this Lego set is very affordable and of course the kid will love it! Just makes sure you are ready to spend a few minutes to setup and play with.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: For a gift.

I got this for my brother for Christmas, and he loved it! the only down fall to this is he has very little patients. With the parts being so small if he couldn't find the right piece or dropped it he would get very frustrated with it. He is 9 years old. I would defiantly recommend this to kids that are older and have a lot of patience and don't get frustrated very easily.

If you've collected any of the ~$10-$15 mini-mechs like are found in the Ninjago & Star Wars lines, this Ninjago version is at-scale with those others. So if you wanted some posable mechs without breaking the bank of a uniform scale, this is another set in that category.
