I don’t know. I bought it for the toslink optical which didn’t work

Does this usb digital to digital optical, or does it usb digital to analog then back to digital for optical?

It is supposed to output digital optical but mine didn’t work

It says "a toslink to 3.5mm connector _was_ included in package" What does that mean? Does this have the 3.5mm-to-toslink connector you would need?

The mini stereo jack and the optical connection are the same shape and combined in a single output. The wording is confusing. Previous Mac computers have this output, but not lately.
