Keyword is BEGINNER
For the price, this is a decent violin. It is also obviously priced, and obviously stated that this is for a beginner. I couldn't agree more. This comes with everything you need to GET STARTED and figure out if the violin/fiddle is right for you. This is a stepping stone to better things if you choose to pursue the instrument. So here is a review from a beginner (with other experience with strings, brass, and woodwind):The case is excellent. Thick and rugged. This is a case that can be used for more expensive instruments in the future. I'd say it's at least worth half the cost of the whole set on its own. Zippers are nice, has extra storage, and the holder for the bows are efficient and sturdy. I wish I had a vase this nice for my guitars!Accessories are a great addition and necessary to get started. The rosin isn't the best, but it is usable. Comes with extra strings, cleaning cloth, and a tuner that works well. Another nice feature is the shoulder piece that goes across the back of the instrument. This is intended for a new player to help alleviate discomfort through practice sessions. The violin itself is extremely basic in design. The tuning pegs work as expected (if you don't know how to tune a violin, you slightly move them out, twist, then push them back into place). They seem solid enough, and don't move much. Definitely need to re-tune every time you pick this up, though. It's annoying, but it is practice you will need! For a beginner, this isn't such a bad thing. There are no frets on the neck. This is kind of a bummer for me coming from guitar, but already knowing the basics of stringed instruments I wasn't too lost. Neck is connected well, and seems to be at a decent angle. I wish the nut was pre-notched, though. Maybe this is a violin thing? I dunno. Made it difficult to tune the first time as I had to adjust string placement several times. Don't give up when first setting it up!The finish on the instrument is passable. It won't win any beauty contests. You do need to get up-close to see the minor imperfections, though. The chin rest is comfortable enough, and the micro-tuning bits are clean and functional. Best placement for the bridge is slightly north of the notches cut out of the top. Took some trial and error to figure this out. On mine, at least, if I have it in line with the notches, the strings are too low on the neck and vibrate against the wood instead of making any real sounds. The bow is great (for me). It is pretty stiff wood but it is easy to tighten the "hair" and get a good curve going on. Again, this is something you will need to find a video for to properly set up. Straight out of the case, this is not usable in any meaningful way. After getting a good scrape on the top of the rosin, it took about six or seven minutes of rubbing to get this properly lubricated along the entire length. Luckily this is something you don't have to repeat all that often. As I said, the rosin is decent enough. As with any instrument, it takes some getting used to. Once you've gotten the hang of it, I don't think it would be too difficult to adjust to a different instrument later on. Some people say to just go for a used instrument....but...you don't often get EVERYTHING you need when you shop used. Plus, you don't often get an instrument at this price. Maybe as an upgrade to this you can go for a used one....Since you'll have a great case, a decent bow, and a bunch of little accessories. This is a great first instrument; an introduction to the violin. After an hour of setup I was able to make a few poor sounding notes. That's what I expected since I've literally never held a violin before! After a few days of playing around on it, I can do a very rudimentary Twinkle Twinkle.....Again...That's what I expected! Don't get this imagining you'll be a violin virtuoso right out of the box.

Good for the price
This product is cheaply made. But it works and sounds great for my beginner violinist

Working violin
Word of advice. If you know nothing about violins make sure you look up the basics such as tuning and applying rosin to the bow before you buy. That being said, you get exactly what you pay for with this. Good violins start at $400. This is not a good violin, but it's perfectly fine for learning to play.

Full size wooden mockup
Honestly, I expected it to be a little better than this. The pfurling is not embedded, it's painted on, and the sloppy brushwork marks the neck. The back of the violin has two small knots. The bridge is not fitted and the peg holes aren't drilled and finished up correctly. Product description stated spruce face and maple back. Oddly, it looks like basswood. I paid for spruce face and maple back and got mystery wood, with knots. The fiberboard isn't nicely sanded and is crude, having a couple of small dents from the manufacturing process. Sawdust is present from the building process. Sound post is incorrectly fitted and is poorly cut. This is a full scale wooden mockup of a real violin. Will it play? Not until the bridge is fitted correctly. The Tail piece was presented as being aluminum and it is plastic . Unless you can properly fit a bridge and attend to the holes in the peg box, a garage sale instrument would perhaps be a better choice.

Good price
I like that it came complete fir a beginner. It seems perfect to start a young student. Price is good. Not a huge investment which 8s a good thing with a beginner.

Did sound beautiful tough once tuned
This was a bit of a difficult beginners violin to set up. Once I looked video on my own I figured it out and had a nice neck support. Obviously for the price you can’t expect a professional one but for beginners this would be the best especially kids as you don’t know if they’ll stick it out!

Slow Shipping
The violin is very nice, however, it took the seller an inordinate amount of time to ship the item.
