Makes a huge difference in audio quality!
I got this sound isolation recording box because I recently replaced my wall to wall carpet with wood flooring and noticed a difference in my recordings. Slight as it was, I detected the sound bouncing off of the surfaces. Bought the box and started using it and I must say that the quality is 1000 times better. It seems to actually be somewhat richer and I do not detect the echo chamber sound anymore. I recommend it for anyone who wants a portable unit. Definitely worth the money!

Happy with my choice vs. the other isolation shields....
I almost purchased one of the many isolation noise shields available on Amazon. I stumbled across this noise elimination shield box cube and am pleased with my purchase. I can't compare it to the others because I have never had one of the other products. I bought this because it gave protection on all sides of the microphone. I have noise where I am recording, even if it is not very noticeable to the human ear. As a result, this does an effective job and also is portable. Very light and easy to take down and build up. Definitely recommend.

Works well and is a good value.
This item works really well for my purposes. PROS: Did exactly what I wanted, which is remove the small reverberation from my small office. Collapsable and easy to store. Inexpensive, a very good value. CONS Is a little small. I have about 2 inches of clearance for my mic and tabletop stand, which means I can't tip it up. I have to place the box on top of something to raise it to mouth level. Foam sound absorbers are a low quality. When making my first adjustments, one pad tore at the thin spot. Still works though.

Adhesion is useless.. foam falls out ... difficult to run wire through back without messing up foam
Not the easiest to put together, as the foam has to be put in place, and there is only one strip of stick on the top ... and it isn't sticky enough to actually hold the top foam in place, so the top foam sags and pulls down the side foam. I had to buy double sided sticky tape to get it to get each of the four foam panels stay in place (not provided). There is foam in front of where the wire runs, and it isn't super easy to get it to go through the back. The box is also too small to fit the standard size filter that goes with my microphone.

Get double sided tape!
I did buy double sided tape to hold up the sound panels, and it won't stick to the material(s). The panels will buckle and fall without some kind of adhesive, but it won't stick making this product useless. Don't purchase it! Buy some sound absorbing panels for $20 and get a wooden box (even cardboard would be a step-up from this cloth-ish box) and some Elmer's glue. Original Review: Be sure to add double sided tape to your order because the panels will buckle and bend. Neat idea but poorly executed for the price point.

I cannot praise this little sound box enough
I had to sit and look at my new box for a while before I could use it because my existing microphone stand was too tall and did not fit inside the box, so my excitement may have been hightened a bit by having to wait in anticipation to use my new toy. Once I bought a more suitable stand and tested the box I was really happy with the noise reduction and it is going to make a huge difference to my workflow. Now I will not have to do my voice overs at 4am when it is dead quiet. I would highly recommend this for anyone creating video tutorials and other online videos where you don't see the presenter's face.

Only useful with a tripod mic. Not good for musicians
Looks bad, you need to use adhesive, and there's no way without significant modification to attach this to any sort of microphone stand. If you have a small tripod mic stand and are recording at a desk, this is useful and does help with noise reduction. If you're recording vocals for music however, this is terrible (unless you have an adjustable platform you can put this on to adjust to the height of a person standing). No way to run cables through other than the front, foam looks kinda crappy even when adhered, and the cube sags slightly under the weight.

Recordings were made with a blue snowball mic and have been much better than anything else I have tried including setting up ...
Have been using this for just a small amount of calendar time, but the box has received extensive successive use in the past week. Recordings were made with a blue snowball mic and have been much better than anything else I have tried including setting up blankets all around a closet. much easier and well worth the 40.00 price tag. My simple expedient to the problem of the sides falling down was to pin the foam to some cardboard and put the cardboard in. It works so well I cannot give this four stars for the foam sides that just won't stay standing on their own. I only need to do minor adjustment to my readings now to make them sale worthy.

I am a voice over artist and to reduce sound abosorption I spend my time with a huge blanket covering the microphone, the computer monitor and of course me! My young daughter really wanted to improve my sound recording a few years ago and she got me this for Christmas. In theory the product should do what is says on the tin, unfortunately as the pictures show, the box doesn't have the ability to function as a sound absorption device. I still use a very heavy blanket to cover me, the BOX, and computer monitor to achieve a good level of absorption. Specially these are the issues: 1. The acoustic foam is thin and porous, not of the quality to really absorb sound. 2. The double sided tape does not stick the panels and instead they fall over inside the box, draping the mic. 3. If you use all 4 acoustic panels they are too large to fit snug inside the box. Bottom line - I'm sure the idea was sound on the drawing board but its better to construct a box yourself, you'll save money and be happy with the product afterwards.

This is a good solution for small home recording projects with limited space and budget. It can't replace proper booth though.
