I purchased the ladder for people to into a 14.5' aluminum boat. Extremely difficult for my intended use--the gunwale hooks slide and move with a rocking boat. The angle of the hull means that when the lower portion of the ladder rests against the hull, as it will do when a person begins to climb, the task is more like an expert rock climber ascending an overhanging shelf. No adult succeeded in the effort, although agile, light children have a slightly easier time. The ladder itself is good quality. If you have a way of stabilizing the ladder in a vertical position for boat application, without permanently anchoring it, it may work for you.

Put this on the boat to see how it would work, got in the water, and could not get back in. This thing kept sliding or moving off the boat itself as there was nothing to hold it in place. I had to grab the handlebar on the side of the boat, do a pull-up, and get myself in. It should not be a product that a 29-year-old guy who is 6'5" and weighs 215 pounds finds impossible to use and is easier just to do a full-body pull-up than fight with the stairs and their inability to stay in one spot.
