Shop Fox D2916 12-Inch Heavy Duty Long Reach Bar Clamp Wood

I'm a subscriber to the "you can't have too many clamps" school of woodworking thought but try to discipline myself to adding new ones that can do something the rest of my stock can't so when I need a deeper throat clamp and these came up I grabbed two. Make no mistake, these are big and heavy. They have a beefy wood (yay!) handle that's easy to grip. They don't have the lever present on lots of other clamps so the jaw engages the shaft as it angles from positioning and then tightening the clamp. I was a little concerned about how well that would work but it's fine and actually makes positioning easier. Overall these are a great addition to a clamp arsenal. Highly recommended.

Bar stock, knurled. Photo shows a round tube shaft. Bar stock locks in better. Very heavy duty tool. I wanted the longer reach, as my others won't. Some work pieces, I need the longer reach. After oiling, slipping the included pad on, it's ready to work. Much beefier than expected, which is nice.

Works well but a little cumbersome to use because of weight

They weigh quite a bit, I wish my arms were stronger to work with overhead on the floor joist but once they were snug there’s no way they were coming off I could probably even hang from them.

Though I have accidentally sheared a handle off of one of these, I still have ordered two more. Though I was disappointed the handle could be sheared off with so little force, the value the deep throatd of these clamps makes them worth the investment and the risk.

I got these for a project I was working on where I needed a deep throat to be able to clamp some parts together. I have to say I'm a little disappointed in these clamps, the sliding end is held in place basically by friction and they kept coming loose and popping off my work piece, I don't know if I had too much tension on them or not enough but I couldn't find a happy medium.

I was looking for an F Clamp without a clutch, but everything seemed super overpriced. I bought a couple of these and they’re extremely well-made (though I admit I was worried about the “Made in China” tag).ShopFox made a great product, I will be buying more.

Very solid clamp. A bit lighter than Bessey F clamps, which I find to be a plus and the price is a great value. My only complaint are the clamp pads. Cheap, flimsy and immediately fall off. Glue them or you will spend more time looking for pads on your shop floor than clamping. Still, considering the price difference and overall value, a minor complaint.

Shop fox provides a great value for a decent product. Nothing wrong with them i can see. 4 stars only because i do like the F- clamp types better (5 stars) ,but they are more money too. I use these a lot, not just for typical clamping of wood, but i also use them for some auto repair apps and general carpentry like holding jigs etc to saw horses. I've even used them to help camp walls of small outbuildings together while truing up surfaces. They've never lost their grip on me. I should say sometimes i prefer these over F clamp style depending on application. Heck i'll give it five stars. Changed my mind when i thought about it. Every shop should have some of these.

Very strong and heavy duty. The price is also very good. The long jaws are very useful for many situations where you need jaws that could reach to hold the work piece

These are surprisingly skookum clamps, and a great value too!

It has a very strong construction but the pinion track usually get locked and the rubber pad on the clamp's jaw constantly get fall.
