Comic Genius: Portraits of Funny People Hardcover – Bargain Price, October 15, 2013

VERY creative portraits - each is uniquely pose in an amusing manner that relates to what the comedian's personality or what they are famous for. So 5 stars for coming up with so many good ideas. Except for 2 stars who are apparently too important/big stars to do an amusing portrait and did serious poses (hows it going Eddie Murphy?)

If you like comedy, but more especially, comedians, you will like this book. I got it for a friend as a gift, and looked through it ahead of time. When I ordered this, I thought it was actually a book with text, but it's a book of portraits of great/famous comedians, with quotes dispersed in between. Just beware that it is not a book that you will sit down and read, or you will be disappointed.

Oh, you crazy, silly Matt Hoyle!!! I LOVE THIS BOOK! It's so comical how he got the actors/actresses/comedians to get into some of the silly poses throughout the book. So fantastic. If you love photography and enjoy comedy, you will smile non-stop throughout this book!

This was a Christmas present for my 16 year old grandson who is participating in a Second City group. I can only tell you his face revealed more than I can say in a thousand words. He was elated to begin and was still looking when the evening games began.

A lot of comedians in funny or silly poses. Fun book to have around the table.

Are the words I told my son who wishes to one day be a seriouse actor, although his wit is lends itself more to comedy roles.This book protrays greatness from actors who'm we've all come to know and love.He loved the book!Thanks to everyone actor and writer who put this together.Who know's it may just be the one tool that set's my son's life on the path of greatness in your field.Thanks,Pamela Longueville

I purchased this book as a Christmas present, and of course I read it first.I really enjoyed the book as did the person I gave it to. I would recommend this book .

Funny, very funny......and damn interesting. Steve Martin is really an American Icon and continues to prove himself.Promote this book, we all need to laugh more.

Best. Coffee. Table. Book Ever.This book never fails to make me giggle... I love the mix of comedians from my era (yes, I watched the original SNL shows as they came out) and current comedians. The forward is written by Mel Brooks, who is one of the most amazing funny men you will ever enjoy.Love to laugh? Love to smile? Get this book!

Im Grunde ist das Buch ein typisches Coffee table book.Porträts bekannter Komiker in außergewöhnlichen Posen.Die Bilder haben mich mit der Reduktion auf das Wesentliche und die bissige, selbstkritische Inszenierung.Es herrlich die Bilder anzuschauen.Ich werde sicher häufiger hineinschauen.

I bought this as a xmas gift this year. Its a great coffee table book. Not all the images are funny, but most of them are amusing and clever. I would purchase again and recommend it.

I was lucky enough to work on the making of this book so my opinion my be slightly bias.I helped on the shots of tow of the comedians when Matt was shooting in London, seeing the shots being made and then in print shows Matt's skill as a photographer. We had a great time on set and i think it shows in the portraits.

Each page is photographically skilfully satisfying.Not one to miss in your collection. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys smiling and looking at great photography.

Full of amazing photos of some of my comedy heroes. Beautiful presented and I'd highly recommend it, but it now!
