No, this hose is commonly used more for water and fertilizers.

Q: can the be heated slightly to fit a connection?

I would not recommend heating it up, but what you can do is spray WD40 onto the connection and slide onto hose.

Q: Is this hose good to run fuel through?

This hose is for water and/or fertilizers as per the manufacturer. If you need a fuel line/hose, I suggest going to an automotive parts store or if a really big one is needed, go to an industrial/commercial manufacturer that makes fuel lines.
