Well made. Purchased for a visually impaired youth, who can now play able to see the pieces and board well.

It's what I would expect for the price. The pieces are very light and the finish on the plastic shows quite a few tooling marks and other blemishes. They don't feel very satisfying to move, but they're sized well. The board quality is perfectly fine. It's the same that you'd get in more expensive sets. My carrying bags (I ordered 3 sets) are identical to the one pictured with the loop on the bottom for the board. I don't anticipate these will take much abuse before starting to come apart, but in my case they're going to sit in a drawer only to be used once per month.If you're buying multiple boards and want to save some money, this one makes sense. If you're buying one to be your personal tournament board I'd spend a little more. You can get a really high quality set of weighted pieces, the same board, and a padded fully enclosed case for under $35.

I bought it for the school's chess group to use. The teacher who stores them likes that it came with the second (extra) queen, so useful with the new players, and that it came with the little storage pouch so that the board can be rolled up and slipped into the pounch and then the two ziplock bags of the black and the white peices can be stored in it, making it a grab-and-go pouch for the 2 kids using the set. I hate the fumes when it is new, so I open it and space-out the board and pieces in a large room that I avoid for the weekend. By then, the plastic smell is bearable for me. The kids don't seem to notice the plastic smell.

Great quality - sturdy pieces and the carrying bag also holds the rolled-up mat.

Picture is not 'exactly' what you get. Chess peices and board are good quality. However, if you notice, the bag in he picture has looped material at the bottom of the bag. This is to be able to roll up your board and stick it in the loop, keeping the chess peice bag and the board together. This loop was not present on the bag I was sent. Without the loop the board must be rolled up and carried seperately and you ha e to use something (rubber band/strap) to keep the board rolled up. Hard to believe the looped material is not standard, but not a show-stopper for this product.

Good quality for the price, an excellent set for anyone.
