Professional Starter Manicure Kit, 6.25 oz.

NOTE: THESE POLISHES ARE SHEER- HENCE THE NAME "NAKED MANICURE" Purchased these after hearing good things about this system. Normally I prefer wearing color, but every so often I want to wear a more subdued look, yet clear polish alone doesn't often look the greatest on long nails. I played around with all the tints in the package before finding the combo that looked best on me- lavender, mauve, and pink, in that order. Once I applied the white tip perfector and satin seal, I couldn't stop staring at them- much as if I'd been wearing color. So what's the point of this kit? Aside from giving a "naked" look to those who don't like to wear color but want a little something extra, the system contains different botanicals and extracts designed to enhance the look and health of the nails- like, say, rehabbing your nails after gels or acrylics. I was completely skeptical about this claim, but since using it, I've completely gotten rid of a peeling patch I'd had on my right thumb for years. No matter what I did, every time my nail grew out past a certain length, it would get dry and peel. That patch is now completely gone. I used to break my nails fairly frequently in the past too, and almost always had a couple nails in some state of repair under patches and wraps and whatnot, but not with this system. Within reason, this set has made my nails considerably stronger and flexible, to where I rarely break them now. (Notice that I said "within reason"- it's not going to save your nail from a door slamming on your finger, or if you're very hard on your nails.) And the perfectors are just awesome for ridge filling! All my life I've had very ridged thumbs, but most ridge filling base coats barely work on them, and buffing is not a good idea (just thins and weakens the nail). Now I alternate the use of each perfector when doing any manicure to get a nice, smooth finish. While I still prefer color and only go "nude" once in a while, I use this system as part of every manicure I do, and I do my nails twice a week. This stuff is great.

I tried a different tint on each nail and didn't notice any difference whatsoever.

I absolutely LOVE this system! I honestly didn't know what to expect when I purchased it. There's really nothing else like this on the market. My nails are very damaged, and as a business professional, I'm embarrassed to wear them naturally around the office. This set has everything you need to turn damaged, unsightly nails into beautiful, professional yet natural-looking nails. The set includes a base that provides a perfect foundation to the entire system. I use this base with all of my other colored nail polishes, not just this set. It evens out the entire nail, smooths all the imperfections, and makes a drastic difference in the appearance all by itself. Most of the other "colors" in this kit allow you to customize the look of your "naked" nail, evening out any color imperfections in your natural nail. The purple helps brighten the nail foundation. The other colors provide a range that allows you to have a pinky skintone (very natural) base to a neutral or nude background. It is NOT opaque, if that's what you're looking for. This is very natural looking, hence the term "naked nail." The purpose of the kit is to give your nails a perfect, natural appearance. The white tip provides just enough of a white color to make it look bright, yet still natural. There are two top-coat options to choose from: a shiny top-coat and a matte-top coat for a more natural blended version. You can't go wrong with this kit, even if your not a fan of painting your nails. I usually don't like to wear colors on my nails, and this kit provides the perfect solution. It keeps me from needing damaging acrylic nails, hides my damaged nails, and provides a flawless natural look that we all wish we were born with.

I am a fan of Zoya because of their lower use of scary chemicals, long wear, and wide variety of colors. I stumbled across the naked collection while looking for neutral low key colors for my hands. I had the kit for a while, and hadn't gotten the chance to sit down and try them out. I then split a nail well below the quick, and knew that if it broke off my nail would bleed and be quite painful for weeks while it grow out. I have 3 young kids so I couldn't address the issue till late. I applied the naked collection in the order that the instructions list, layering the base, lavender, mauve, then pink, the white/cream on the tip of my nails, then the satin and glossy coats. 7 layers on the tip. The whole shebang dried, on its own without drying drops, within an hour. Fully dried enough that I was able to go to bed and did not wake up with sleeping creases. The polish looked great for a more than a week (remember split nail and three young kids). To add we went swimming, we wash dishes by hand, and I did not use the remove ahead to help with adhesion. I was impressed to say the least. I was dealing with grow out before I really dealt with much wear or chipping. The broken nail was kept in place and didn't grow with everyday use. I think the look is very natural and quite elegant. I love this product. I cannot attest to strong discoloration, or thin or brittle nails, my nails are naturally normally healthy.
