I had a hard time finding a basket for my wife's bike as it had a 31mm diameter handle bar and most baskets were designed to be mounted on far skinnier bars. If you have a fairly modern road, mountain or road bike, you will probably have this problem.This adaptor is pretty expensive but there a very few cheap options out there (ugly zip ties) but works well and has a clever cable mechanism that prevents anything attached to the adaptor from sagging downwards as you ride, like heavy groceries or your pet poodle.

A bit fiddly to installDon't overtighten the nuts - and make sure you follow the instructions closely - the wire works as a cantilever to support the basket - but only if you do it right.Excellent once set up.Don't overload your basket beyond the stated limits.

I needed this for my mountain bike which has a 31.8mm centre section & it does the job it's required to do uncomplainingly!

Bought to support an old Karrimor bar bag from the days when Karrimor made great cycle luggage. fits just like the original, (stolen with previous bike). Good solid job.
