Vedic Astrology for Beginners: An Introduction to the Origins and Core Concepts of Jyotish

Pamela McDonough’s book simply explains the essentials components of Vedic astrology in an organized and clear format. Not knowing much about the subject, I found this book provided the basics needed to understand how to read an astrology chart.

This is a great book to introduce some really complex concepts in astrology! I’m still very new to Jyotish but Pamela does an amazing job breaking it down. Will be referring back to this book again and again.

Western Astrology no longer cuts it for me- started to find it too superficial to provide me with deep spiritual meanings. I’ve been desperate to learn Vedic or Jyotish but often put off by the Sanskrit terms that I don’t understand. I’d hoped to find someone who could translate and explain the basics of Vedic and with my background of years studying Contemporary Western Astrology, I found it easy to fully grasp this book.I like that the author also understands both types of Astrology as it makes it easy to see from different angles. The book is very clear and well put together.. Very grateful to have found this book as I am currently searching and hoping to find the keys to the Real Astrology.

I wish I would have read this book before I started down my Vedic astrology path. This book has made Vedic astrology easier to comprehend. I can now go back and re-read other Vedic astrology books with a clearer view and comprehension.

I enjoyed reading his book and it was my first introduction to learning about Vedic astrology. If you are desiring to learn what Vedic Astrology is about - this should to be your first purchase. Pamela McDonough is knowledgable and breaks it down into an easy to understand format. I highly recommend this book.

Pam has made this book so accessible! she’s taken very difficult concepts and explain them both easily and interestingly. I’m impressed with the level of knowledge and ease with which she has been able to explain it. Pam has laid it out in a format that is so easy to understand.

A beginner's books! Well written but not very many new descriptions of transits.
