I received this as a gift and had my doubts about it at first because, you know, my pants have pockets. I thought strapping a phone to my bino holster would just be a dorky way of carrying unnecessary weight.Turns out this holster is great. I have a big ol' Motorola z3 and it is a pain in the ass to have in my pants while on backcountry hunts in the Rockies. A giant expensive electronic brick smushed up against the front of your thigh affects your mobility when climbing, sitting to glass, getting prone to shoot, etc....It's also nice to have a phone so readily available because an out of state timber company recently bought up a lot of the public lands in and around my hunting grounds. They then proceeded to lobby the state to enact a set of medieval trespassing laws. This holster allows me to easily and regularly check my phone for land ownership data so I don't accidentally wander over an unsigned ridge into a trespassing charge because some Robber Baron lacks human decency.It's worth mentioning that this holster works best with a regular, rectangular phone. I tried carrying an in-reach in it and the fit is kinda goofy. Which is a bummer, because from a safety standpoint it would be nice to have an in-reach constantly close at hand.

Purchased to hold my Garmin Explorer+, fits pretty well, there’s a little bit of extra space in the top but that doesn’t bother me any. I could use it to hold my rangefinder to if need be.
