YOU CAN'T GO WRONG!
I read some of the negative reviews and I do believe them, so how can't you go wrong then? Well short of never getting your order which rarely happens, that's the only show stopper! In every other scenario there are easy fixes!I had no real issues after assembling the kit which I wouldn't hesitate to recomend to anyone. Beginners just take your time soldering. A beginner can easily get it done under an hour, more experienced people can have it done in 20 minutes.About the only thing worth mentioning is the main IC, 2206? Is not that great. I suspect it is either a counterfeit part or just made with bad quality control. The real part which would cost you more than this kit is way more stable and can operate from 3-16 volts. This part that comes with the kit is useable just not as stable. Will only work very close to 8-9 volts. Any higher or lower it becomes unstable. Also, if you find it's still too unstable, you can still make it work by replacing the 2 big caps with the same values or a bit higher vaues! There are enough youtube videos for this model and all the copycat models. All use the same schematic and parts. The videos go over all possible errors and all the easy fixes. So if a beginner does have some issues they would still be able to fix them easily. Please note you may not have any issues too! I suspect the reason for that is the lose specs in the components so you may also want to test all the caps and resistors before you solder and replace any if needed.Bottom line is you couldn't possible buy all these parts for the price of this kit. I paid $10 for mine. I'd pay up to $15 for this kit or any copycat kit. Any more then it loses the value and benefits I'm about to share with you.I said you can't go wrong and I mean it! Consider what you get for your $10. All the parts, with schematic, hard clear case and possibly the best thing is the experience and fun you get for just $10.I was going to make my own from scratch until I ran across this kit which was perfect for my needs. I wanted a light weight as small as possible portable unit. This is not intended for crucial tests. This is for quick and dirty checks on the go, but also great for students and weekend DIYers! Sure one can surely find something to complain about this $10 kit. My biggest complaint is I didn't get this kit sooner!Pictured here with my portable osiliscope.

Awesome - yet - Be very careful!
This is a sweet pocket scope!I added a 9.6 vdc Battery pack velcroed to the back for power, totally nice!Did have to pull it apart and repair it from a typical "remove the probes when changing from DC to A/C power analyzing" "you will let the smoke out! hahahah" - I was able to repair the trace that turned into a fuse" - and in the process admired the simple, yet effective design - thank you!

Didn't last long.
Using this to test the 02 sensor and air fuel ratio in a 1985 Porsche 911. Interface is rather simple to learn and price is appealing so I was hoping this thing would last until I got my testing done. Self diagnostic doesn't work. The voltage readings are wonky. Waste of money.

Excellent mini scope
Ignoring value, this mini DSO is very easy to use and meets basic needs, i.e. no multi input, special triggering or other advanced features. It is great for just taking a quick look at a signal, and even provides basic min/max level, frequency and duty cycle measurements. Taking into account price (Around $42 when I purchased) the quality is fairly amazing. My only complaint is the power and coupling switches feel cheap and not sturdy, and the knob encoder seems to miss steps some times. Given the option I'd porbably rate 4 3/4 stars, but still an excellent mini scope, and an amazing value.

Unbeatable single channel scope on a budget
Really easy to use and the GUI is quick, there's no noticable lag between button presses and actions. The dial is finicky and you need to rotate it slowly but it's totally acceptable. Accuracy appears high but I haven't verified anything. Great for scoping a car or user electronics. The price is unbeatable for the performance I'm very impressed.

It gets the job done for basic measurements
I ordered this primarily for hobbyist HiFi bench testing projects, just to check for clipping on low level input and high level output signals, as well as to do some basic board and chip testing and troubleshooting. I wasn't expecting a precision instrument at this price but it's more than adequate and gets the job done for my needs. The first one I got I suspect was bad out of the box. With no input signal I was getting a staticky waveform and when I attached the probes it got worse and would spike when I jiggled the BNC connection. Probably a bad ground. I exchanged it for another unit and this one was better, although it never reads totally clean on boot up.If you have never used an o-scope before you will probably need to watch a YouTube to figure out how to dial in the scale and functions for your needs but once you have a basic grasp it's pretty easy to use. Definitely a must-have for the budget electronic hobbyist after a good multimeter, of course.
