General Finishes Arm-R-Seal Oil Based Topcoat, 1 Pint, Satin

Easy to work with, just like everything else I’ve used from this brand. Gave a BEAUTIFUL satin finish to my freshly stained pantry shelves! (I used one coat of GF wood conditioner- rag, then one coat of GF Colonial Maple oil based gel stain- rag, then one coat of GF satin Arm-R-Seal- foam brush.) It did not get streaky like some of the cheaper polyurethanes I’ve tried. Very glad this was available on Amazon as I didn’t feel like driving an hour to the closest Woodcraft store where I normally purchase my General Finishes supplies.

This product is simply amazing. I bought it to use on bourbon lid trays and loved the finish. I redo furniture and believe I will use it on all of my up-cycled items now. Worth it! The product was shipped without any leakage. Smell was not strong. The coverage was complete and great.

Takes a little patience to apply and needs at least two coats. Once you get it right it forms a perfect finish for furniture that you intend to put to use.

Easy to apply and difficult to mess up.

I have been refinishing wood projects for many years including replacing all of the doors in my home. I am familiar with General Finishes and love their products. I was asked to refinish a table top for a friend and thought Armor-Seal would make the job easier but I was surprised at the difficulties I had with the product drying and the surface remaining smooth. Armor-Seal looks like a very good product and I am hoping the 80 + degrees and high humidity were the main cause of my issues.

Works as advertised. I like the slight ambering effect. Durable. Strong fumes so make sure to work in properly ventilated area.

I used this on a kitchen table. For whatever reason, I view it as a very high quality product, but it really didn't resolve my issue, which is preventing watermarks and other marks on the table surface. Perhaps I purchased the wrong product - I don't know.

General Finishes are the best I have found. I only use them. This seller packaged carefully.
