Im worried that the wheel wells are too far away for the straps to reach...** A: It won't work for that van - not because of the wheel wells (you could always attach extra cord to extend it) but because it has to have a hatch door to keep the awning up. If your van has the two doors in back which open horizontally this item will not work. **Q: would the awning work on a Casita trailer** A: I am not familiar with your trailer, I use mine on the back of my Pinecone pod trailer and it works great. There is plenty of covered space behind the trailer. I use bungee cords to attach to each side of the trailer. **Q: Would this work with a full sized van with barn doors in back?** A: ABSOLUTELY - this was the best buy I made for our trip. it comes with ropes (para-cord) + suction cups to secure it, the ropes have little plastic hooks that allow you to 'secure' it to something like under side of vehicle, roof rack, mirrors - something on your vehicle without damage. You should however invest in weight bags (that you fill with rocks, water or sand/dirt) to hold/tie-down to the front legs so the wind doesn't grab it & blow it away. I am delighted with it - well worth the money for a huge portable awning. we easily shaded our whole picnic table with all 6 of us under it and immediately around it. You may need two people to open/close the doors (someone to lift it up to allow door to FULLY open/close) but you could find a higher point to secure that would allow it without 2 people. Sets up quickly, could probably do by myself but very easy and quick for 2 people ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I like it, but have some gripes. *by M***O on July 12, 2025* In some of the places where I camp, especially at beaches, there there can be a lot of wind. It happens especially when we want to cook! I got it for a wind block - you can see how I pitch it against the camper, with one end right on the ground. I haven't tried pitching it with the poles. In this configuration there is a surprising amount of room under it. Some advice: Try to assemble this before the wind starts. Even with two people it is a handful. Assemble the two long poles and insert the ends into the corners. Then clip the hooks onto it. You can't slide the poles through the hooks because they have thick ferrules. When disassembling, you can't slide the pole out because the ferrules catch and the pole comes apart. The outside poles are stabilized at the peak with ties. This is difficult because the ties aren't long enough. The inner pole also has a tie, but it is too short. The two short ends of the tent are not the same. The longer end goes up against the truck (or over the car in some configurations). The shorter end goes down on the ground, or is held up by the heavier poles provided. I tried short loops of rope to the grommets near the ground because my stakes won't fit through the grommets. The supplied stakes are worthless in my opinion. The window at the short end is a mystery. If you are blocking wind, it will let it through. The same goes for blocking sun or rain. Gripes, etc.: The fabric color is not very dense. In bright sun it lets a lot of heat through. There is a little mesh rectangle that can be hung inside at the apex of the tent for storage. Confusingly, they call it a "string bag". Two rectangular bags with Velcro attachments are supplied, but not explained. I think they could be sand bags for use on the beach, but I don't see any place to attach them. Two suction cups are supplied. I haven't used them - usually don't trust them. Two spare hooks - nice touch.
