Elderberry is an old herbal treatment for colds and flu, and studies of zinc's effect on colds show it may shorten duration of a cold in adults by a couple of days. One or two lozenges 2-4 times a day at the first sign of a cold, feeling run down or overfatigued has helped me more often than not prevent sniffles from worsening. These elderberry - zinc lozenges taste better than any others I've tried too.The package label ingredients list includes zinc gluconate 5 mg, brown rice syrup, black elderberry extract in a base of natural raspberry flavor, lemon peel, orange peel, hibiscus flower, rose hips, lemon grass, perilla leaf, and schizonepeta herb; no gluten ingredients; no artificial colors, sweeteners, or flavors. Label also says do not use if pregnant or nursing.

I very infrequently deal with colds but when I feel one coming on, these seem to help reduce its severity. Both elderberry and zinc have some history of attacking colds and this combination seem to work for me. They are a bit more expensive than other cold lozenges, but the fact they seem to work makes it worth it to me.

Great combination of flavor with the right amount of thickness.....

I did not like them. Odd tasting and not zinc. Dried my mouth out real bad

I tried the tropical, cherry, blueberry, and these. I like these best. They are tart, but not too much so. Just a pleasant lozenge that does the trick. When I feel a little scratchy, I take a couple and it does the trick. I think I will always keep these on hand as my go to for prevention and relief of colds and sore throats.

I like that they don't taste bitter. I've had elderberry juice before and found it quite bitter. These don't have much of a taste. Which I love.
