How do you make the clock stay on? It displays the time for about 10 seconds and disappears. There are no instructions

Display will stay on as long as it's plugged in. Unplugged, the display will turn off to save battery life.

Anybody know if there is a difference on displaying time between plugged in and battery?

Good question.If the digital mirror alarm clock is powered by battery, the LED screen will stay for 15s and turn off automatically to save power. While using plugged in, the screen will be constantly on.

Do the clock show regular time numbers, I am not familiar with military time
