Le Saunier De Camargue Fleur De Sel Sea Salt (Plastic Tub), 35.2 Ounce

I settled on Le Saunier De Camargue Fleur De Sel Sea Salt years and years ago after trying quite a few of the competitors. It wasn't a scientific test, just what tasted the best to me, so this is totally subjective review. What I like about this particular salt is the consistency and how well it perks up the flavor of whatever you put it on. To be very specific, sprinkling this on a fresh slice of a high quality tomato takes the tomato from a 10 out of 10 to a tilt warning. Just let it sit for a little while and grind fresh black pepper on top of the salt. Combine this with other simple ingredients and you have a heavenly meal. For years I always bought the small containers that always seemed overpriced so I started buying the kilo package when it became available in the US. This size is much more reasonably priced per ounce. There was one downside to that and it was that the packaging was all cardboard and subject to getting torn apart during shipment and it did not adequately protect the salt from high humidity summers. Lately that has been addressed with the new plastic tub container, solving both issues and is also reusable.

This salt is amazingly tasty! Yes! It tastes better than your average table salt by a mile. It gives such a rich salty taste. Be careful and use less than you would normal salt. It is expensive, but so worth it. Salt your steaks with it for about 45 minutes and then grill/fry. You will love it!

I have been using this Fleur de Sel salt for decades..it is by far the best salt one can use for cooking stews, sauces, meats, and anything that needs far more depth than table salt and/or general sea salt. It is hard to explain how good this salt tastes. It feels like you are getting trace minerals when you ingest this salt..seriously, I feel better after sprinkling this directly on rice or pasta or even eating it straight. I would consider myself a salt connoisseur and this is the holy grail of all salts..seriously it is that good. I have given this salt as a hostess gift many times and always receive thank you notes for introducing them to this culinary workhorse. Hope this helps others to try this salt..I truly think anyone that does will become hooked like everyone I know!

Best cooking salt for our gourmet kitchen. A bit expensive but worth the value.

Genuine Fleur de Sel. This container will last a long time. It's the genuine Fleur de Sel finishing salt. A little goes a long way.

I love this salt and have been buying it for about 15 years. This arrived opened and spilling. It’s not cheap and I am really really disappointed that this company doesn’t replace things that arrived broken/ opened. I cannot support a company with such terrible customer service

After so many years of the salt being packaged in an instantly recognizable, reliable, and satisfying cardboard canister -- they finally changed the packaging -- and it's AWFUL. It's the cheapest flimsy white plastic container that the lid hardly stays on. Why do this? Now, when you reach up to grab it from your shelf it's like a little junky garbage pail that might spill all over you, not the brightly colored, reliable canister of old. In addition, they have not updated the product photos to indicate this, so beware (I am including a photo so you can see what you will actually get when ordering the 35.2 oz (2.2 lb) product). The good news is, it's the same fantastic salt, so I'll probably continue to buy it, despite being aggravated with this unwelcome twist to the packaging. But I seriously hope the packaging team will listen to users and right the ship on this one. Packaging does matter for user experience, and this downgrading of quality does not suit this otherwise fabulous product.

Produit en Camargue et vendu depuis… le Pas de Calais, cherchez l’erreur ? Otage du transporteur. Obligation de déranger une personne pour récupérer le colis en point relais. Le produit est parfait !!!

Fantastic value for this product. I love this salt. Used to buy it in France and bring enough home for a year. Very tasty on salads. Price for this was excellent.

Ich benutze dieses Salz seit fast zwei Jahrzehnten und bin immer noch begeistert. Der Geschmack ist einfach hervorragend und macht bei vielen Gerichten einen echten Unterschied. Die große Packung lohnt sich besonders, da das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis deutlich besser ist als bei kleineren Mengen. Wichtig ist nur, das Salz luftdicht aufzubewahren, damit die Konsistenz gut erhalten bleibt. Für mich klare 5/5 Sterne.
