Hitachi UC18YKSL Li-Ion 14.4V to 18V Universal Battery Charger

I have several Hitachi batteries and this charger charged every one of them fully and quickly. It is not loud by any means. I've only had it a few days now. If anything goes wrong in the near future I will update you! This was an excellent purchase, I would make it again.

This really made my life better because I lost my other one. My batteries were charged in less than a day.

Purchased to replace the same charger that came with a set of Hitachi tools. The old charger died. The new charger worked fine and is an exact replacement. The charger was encased in near-bulletproof plastic. How about elevating the frustration-free approach? The charger received is model UC 18YKSL. It charges lithium ion (Li-ion) batteries from 14.4 volts to 18 volts. Labeled for 120 volt power source in USA and Canada only. Label shows it fits Hitachi lithium ion slide batteries, specifically the BSL14 series and BSL18 series. According to page 10 of the instruction manual there are eight batteries in each series that fit this charger, ranging from 1.3 amp hours to 5.0 amp hours. Example: The 18 volt, 5.0 amp hour battery is designated BSL1850. It is clearly in the BSL18 series so it fits in this charger.

Unfortunately our original Hitachi charger quit working after a year. We turned to Amazon to get a quick replacement because we were in the middle of some major updates in our house. Loved Amazon's quick delivery, but now after only 5 months we are back in the same boat. The light flashes when plugged in, we place the battery on the charger and it turns to solid red, but after just 10 seconds or so, it turns back to the red flashing light we get no charge. I really hate to keep buying these every few months for $45! Buy the extended warranty if you plan on getting one of these! I really wish we would have!

This is a textbook example of an obsolete product being sold by a third party seller to unsuspecting customers. I purchased one on December 21 and it failed to charge batteries as of Feb 25. The Hitachi web site states that the charger, still listed on the site. is warranted for one year, and should be returned to place of purchase for refund or replacement. I reached out to Amazon who said that they were referring the matter to the seller, David's Tools. David's responded immediately that they took no responsibility for warranties. Amazon stepped in and immediately refunded my purchase price. Here's where it get's even more interesting. I had, understandingly. some reservations about purchasing another charger from the sketchy purchaser David's tools, who does not even do their own fulfillment, but uses a tire store in Missouri to ship their product, so I went outside the Amazon ecosystem and did a search. Number one on the search results was Lowe's Home Improvement, and the price was identical, with free ship to store. I ordered one, picked it up at the store and found it to be vastly improved over the previous model. First, it has very large and quite bright indicator lights in a variety of colors which give immediate confirmation of charge and consistent feedback of the progress toward a full charge, Second and even more appealing, there is a USB port which allows charging of usb devices as well as Hitachi batteries. Even more remarkable, if a fully charged battery is in the charger, usb devices can be powered even when the charger is not connected to power. Lesson learned.

今回購入するきっかけは、2019年5月18日にアマゾンで購入したドライバドリルにセットされていた充電器が作動しなくなったため購入。日曜大工の真似事しかしていないので、頻繁には使用していない。ドリルは正常に動くが充電器はお釈迦になった。だから、耐久性に疑問がある。軽さ、使いやすさ、低音の音質については、他の製品を使用していないので良いのか悪いのかわからない。よってすべて☆は3にした。

純正充電器が故障したために購入しました。普通に充電できるので助かります。純正品よりファンの音が少しだけ静かになりました。あれ、これも純正品ですか？
