I have been using this chlorine free pool shock since I replaced my vinyl liner four seasons ago. I find that it is more suitable for long term care of my liner and pump / filter assembly and works very well for high-dosing during winter closings. It is very effective at keeping the water crystal clear and keeping algae growth to a minimum. I typically apply it via the skimmer and it dissolves before it is recirculated into the pool. Have used this shock for years and does the job well. we have a 15x30 saltwater pool. I use one bag weekly as maintanace during regular use. I use 2 bags for after heavy use like a party or suspected algae contamination or outbreak.
