Be careful to choose reliable express company next time
Listen, I'm not bitter but the delivery guy is so irresponsible. Half an hour ago, I checked "Track package" and surprisingly found that the package has already been delivered. I've been waiting in the house all the afternoon but I didn't hear anyone knocked the door or rang the doorbell as well as my friends. They were in the living room, which is even closer to the front door than I but they didn't hear anything too. At last I accidentally saw the package is already at the front door so that I know the delivery guy must be just throwing the package at the front door and run away. It's OK, really OK if I'm not at home can the delivery guy do this. But how could you leave the package unattended before confirming if any resident is at home? Funny.

The art of public speaking review
Excellent explanation of the art of public speaking.Provides great definitions and examples of how to make a great speech and how to become a great speaker.this book covers every aspect of public speaking and as one who has been on the pork chop circuit, it is improving my ability, so very much. This is well written, easily understood, and a terrific tool to perfect the art of public speaking.

pretty good
Got a used version, which is what I asked for. I don't think it came with the access code as such, which was fine for me anyway. No marks, only a bit scuffed on the cover and some dog-eared pages but nothing very distracting at all. All of the pages seemed to be present and I passed my class with an A with this book. I paid ~$20 for this previous edition as opposed to ~$120 for a new copy of the newer edition, and you really can't beat that.

Try and buy used.
At over $100 it is a lot for a college student.A lot of the information contained in the book is basic knowledge. But if you are a first time college student who has never given a speech, this book might be useful for you. If you have been in college for a few semester/quarters/terms than most of the content will be repetitive.

Excellent Intorductory public speaking text with limited bias.
The book is well written and organized. Unlike most of the contemporary texts that are filled with biased examples meant to influence ones political mindset in one direction or another, this one has a comparatively minimal amount. At least there's a token effort appear to present alternative views. A complete and total lack of bias in a textbook would be refreshing but in a book that discusses critical thinking skills it should be manadatory.Overall, the text is an easy read that's filled with good information -- it's current iteration forms a solid introductory text on public speaking.

buyer beware!
The book seems to be reasonably informative, but if you rent this title make sure your instructor isn't using Connect Lucas access features. Used titles may not have the access card and Rentals won't have it for sure (even though the title says with card). The card alone goes for $60-$80 (I got mine for $40 secondhand, but it's not guaranteed). You may only save $10 in the long run buying used (if you need the card) and in some cases you could pay more than the new copy with card.

I just got the book for my communications class. there was nothing for me to like or dislike about because I only read for my class. but the price was really good for the book especially compared to our bookstore prices. and it came at the expected time.

Extremely basic and often vague
There is very little crucial information contained in the text of the book that cannot be gathered from the summary pages. In my opinion the book was written very clearly, however, written for the ninth grade. Sadly it is written in such basic language that in some instances things become confusing due to redundancy.
