Durable over time, it alkalizes!
I have purchased quite a few water filtering pitchers over time. This one Is by far the best one of all of them . It's definitely not the largest of them, but I won't give it a bad rating based on its size. It's shape and size is actually one of the great things about it. If you're home is like mine, there's not a lot of room in the refrigerator to spare. Due to this pitcher's sleek design, it not only holds a decent amount of water, but it slides right in between whatever in the fridge. Now, to compare to some other pitchers, I bought this in March of 2016 and still use it today with not problems. I bought an Invigorated Living Premium Alkaline Water Pitcher Ionizer in May of 2016 because I noticed the water would turn almost bitter when the filter was ready to be replaced. Due to poor design, that pitcher lasted maybe a month. It broke simply by being full and grabbing it out of the fridge by the handle which snapped off and created a mess I didn't have time for. It turns out that all water filters result in unpleasant tasting water when the filter wears out. So, I came back to this. I have learned to notice as the filter is about ready to be changed by a slight difference in taste. You will actually get a whole lot of water per filter, unless you have visibly filthy water, then you need more then a pitcher. Anyways, the taste of the water is amazing and I'm getting a p.h. level of 10 consistently every time I change the filter. Buy this water pitcher and you will receive the benefits well filtered, healthy, alkaline water with quality that will last and last. Additional things to add; our tap water smells like chlorine, but not after going through this pitcher. The filters are easy to change, but to assure successful install and uninstall without damage, take out the part the filter sets in and set it down on the counter by itself before pressing it firmly in or pulling it out. The old instructions to the filters used to say to remove the stickers on the bottom, then run cold water through them for 2 minutes (set a timer), then install and fill the pitcher up 3 times and empty each time before water is ready to drink. That's to get loose sediment out of the filters, nothing to worry about. The new instructions say to submerge the filters, but whoever wrote that doesn't understand that filters are designed to work in one direction. Water (or gas, oil, ect for other filters) goes through one side to screen out whatever is being filtered, and clean on the other side. I suggest using the original instructions, otherwise the entire filter will be submerged in dirty water and you will end up either throwing away a filter. It's a great water pitcher and I highly recommend it!

If you're looking for a great alkaline water filter pitcher, this will get the job done.
Simply put, this water pitcher fulfills its purpose - it filters your water, makes it taste better and increases the alkalinity of my tap water. I would love for them to put out a 3.5 liter model because I can go through a couple of these in a day pretty easily just in the morning and after work, but it's as good a pitcher as I've used (Pur, Brita, etc.). For those wondering about a lot of the reviews saying that the top has trouble staying put - yes, that is the case. But it doesn't change my five-star rating for this pitcher, because guess what? Every pitcher I've ever used has had that exact "issue" and I don't buy water pitchers for the stability of the top (as I imagine most of you don't, as well). Plus, it's easily resolved by a small piece of scotch tape or two on either side, which doesn't affect anything because it has an access port at the top for filling, and you don't otherwise need to remove the top until you need to change the filter. And most importantly, it's reasonably priced at $35, while their filters are among the most reasonably priced (4 for $30, i.e., $7.50 each) compared to other brands. Highly recommended.

Works as described, but some serious functionality flaws.
This does what it says, but there are some design flaws. First of all, the instructions repeatedly harp on the importance of removing 2 stickers from the filter before use, which actually do not exist. I had to call in to be told that they don't exist after trying for an hour to remove something that wasn't there. Second, the lid WILL NOT stay on the pitcher. I plan to duct tape the darn thing down. Hopefully that will keep it on. Third, the thing that holds the unfiltered water and the filter will also not stay in place. If I can get the lid to stay in place, I'm hoping the filter holder thing will be forced to stay in place. Forth, if it has not finished filtering, or if no more filtered water can reach the bottom section, when you pour, you'll get a 50/50 mix of filtered and non-filtered water, so don't completely fill the pitcher up.Other than that... It does exactly what it says. It filters and alkalinizes the water. The tap water in my area is fairly poor; lots of lead and smells like fish and pee. Even distilled water in my county is HIGHLY acidic. I can't drink it at all without getting serious acid reflux (to put it quite mildly - I've puked from just one glass of it before). I've been drinking bottled alkaline water (or anything but water) for years. This tastes clean and has a comparable alkalinity to most brands of alkaline water on the market. (about an 8, depending on how much you get of the 50/50 mix)I'll probably go with a different brand when I need to change the filter and donate this one to a school, but until then, it is saving me money as well as saving the environment on plastic bottles of water.

Cheap plastic, the lid does not stay attached to ...
Cheap plastic, the lid does not stay attached to the jug so when you pour the water the lid falls off and water goes everywhere. The plastic spout piece broke off the first time I poured water. Absolute rip off. Save yourself the money.

Cheap plastic !
The top does not clip, fall all the time and the plastic is cheap. I am not impress with the build quality of this product for the price...
