Tough Tire Lever
While you can't always have the best of both worlds, these steel tire levers do the trick with tough fitting tires. After breaking my Park TL-1 3 piece tire lever set on the first use while replacing a mountain bike tires and tubes on a 1998 GT Backwoods and having to use a spoon out of our kitchen set that had an end similar to these levers, I knew I had to have a set of these. My original tire levers went missing and I thought the Park TL-1 would be a sufficient replacement--they were not--all 3 were damaged on the first use.As the other reviewer mentioned these levers are steel and can scratch your rims or remove paint from painted rims. However, that is a trade-off to avoid the frustration of plastic tire levers breaking. If you are carefull the TL-5 will do the trick for those tight tires that just don't want to come off the rim or go back on. The TL-5 made reinstalling the tire without frustration. Even before I purchased these and used the spoon to get those GT tires back on, with care I did not damage the rims. These steel levers are solid. I decided to try them out and remove one tire to see if they would meet my expectations and not disappoint. They did meet my expectations.Although these levers are heavy, I think one will find a place in my road kit so I can avoid the frustration of plastic levers failing me on a ride should I have a flat.

Sturdy but heavy
I've been using these for a few years. They're great! Totally indestructible (I snapped my last tire iron trying to get a tight Gatorskin tire off) I expect these to be the last tire irons I will ever buy <3The metal finish can be rough on the rims, so I slide a slice of old tire underneath for protection.

Heavy Duty Shop Use Tire Iron
Had the chance to use these tire irons Nov. 16,2010. They work as described. These are not carry on tire irons....these are for your shop.....unless you want to carry the "extra" weight. They work fine. The extra leverage provided takesoff even the hardest tires. (I purchased Continental GP 4000's and placed them on Mavic MA-40 rims with these tire irons. Mavic MA-40's are traditionally hard to mount tires onto. Note: I had to struggle even with these Park Tire Irons. I wouldhate to have to go through a tire change on the Road, But Again, MA-40's are hard to mount. I had the necessary leverage to mounts the tires. If you insert the end of the tire iron too far, it will hook on the opposite side of the rim. Take note, be careful, pay attention...........take your time. Your could cause damage to your rims if you don't. It not the Park TL5's. These are(and I mean shop quality)extra strength tire irons. They will get the job done. Pay attenation when dis-mounting or mounting your tires with these levers.........If not used correctly, you could damage your rims. Also, I found no evidence of damage to the coating to my rims with dis-mount and re-mount. Just pay attention and be careful. These tire irons will outlast you, will them to your great grand children.I recommend these tire irons and give them 5 stars...........Just be carfull.mavic517

PERFECT for its intended use.
They weren't lying when they said these are for the hardest tire/rim combos. I seriously have one of the worst possible setups, as I've completely bent or snapped every other type of bike tire lever and countless metal objects. These are best for me. They're roughly eight inches long and are easily sturdy enough to get the job done without breaking. I've used these a couple times now.Obviously these are not little plastic levers, so don't listen to the reviews which complain it's overkill or that they damaged their rims. If you're tires/rims are like mine, then deep scratches along the rim are inevitable with ANY tool strong enough unless you take extra steps to protect your rims.

Strong tire levers
These levers will never break. Mostly, they work just as they should. But they lack a system to lock them in place to a spoke and they are a little large for certain tire/rim combinations which makes them hard to manipulate.

Oooh, Mama, PERFECT
I no longer drive a car, so my 3 wheel pedal-trike gets a lot of miles. I've changed out 3 inner tubes. These babies are the perfect tools for the job. The edges are rounded so I do not cut a tube or a tire. They are smooth and glide through the tire saving me time and aggravation. They are my favorite and best-made tools.

Steel is difficult to break!
So anyway I ordered a pair of Schwalbe Marathon Plus 26X1.5 style 348 tires that have a reputation purported to be difficult to mount. Ahhh I'll just treat myself to a pair of genuine imported steel tire levers just to be safe I says. Wow that was my best idea for a Wednesday. The Marathons have a tight wire bead that had it not been for the beautifully shaped tip and extra length for leverage I would be babbling curses to this day. These levers are ideal with a dainty pry lip easy to manipulate to the tires inside bead with forged cold steel brute toughness to persuade any tire into submission. The surface treatment isn't good for sliding to remove a tire so having a fairly complete shop I decided to manicure a nice ramp on the big handle end. With a machinists 2x36 belt sander I shaped the metal past the hanger hole into a shallow spoon profile high at the crown tappering to pretty thin at the edge. Finished my artful sculpture with progressively finer Wet N Dry paper to 1,200 grit. That worked beautiful. Now with the bead raised by one pry bar I slip the modified big end with the hump between the tire and tube to scamper around the rim releasing the bead.If you were to do the same and worry about scratching the rim try a piece of UHMW tape on the flat; it'd slide better and wouldn't scratch. At 'bout 17 bucks these ain't cheap but the satisfaction of an easy mount or dismount? Priceless.

Monster lever
It’s really huge as in BIG!!! I thought it was like the regular tire lever like 2” in length. This are about 6-8 “ long and heavy duty to the maximum. It can be used for an SUV or regular car tire. These bad bois will last a century if you’ll asked me. Lol

but be careful of scraping the tubless tape or tube..

Indestructible
What a tool. Too big and heavy to pop in a saddle bag, but for home use these are the business, especially when working with very tight tyres!
