I was so happy to stumble upon this Kokeshi book in English that I bought it without comprehending the price. It didn't matter.I have a large collection of Kokeshi dolls. I bought what I liked and what I was mostly sure were Japanese. Most were purchased years ago online. A few were purchased during my many trips to Japan from 1999 to 2010. My favorites are the mothers with babies and the old couples. Unfortunately, the only books I have on Kokeshis are Japanese and not that useful to me.This book helps me identify some of my dolls and has me yearning to find the places the book highlights.Thank you so much for offering it.

I have not even gone completely through this book but I had to leave a review. I love it! Filled with useful information and beautiful examples of the different artists kokeshi. If you adore kokeshi this is a must have. I do not think you will be disappointed.

I had not heard of these dolls before, but there were so many different styles and shapes , that I found the book very interesting, full of facts, the culture, the history, and the price was very reasonable.

This book provides an easy but fascinating overview on the history and styles of kokeshi dolls.I would recommend it to anyone drawn to these beautiful pieces.The balance between prose and photos is perfect. The author provides enough detail for one to continue learning about this wonderful world, but further research is not necessary to gain a solid insight.

Beautiful photography and lots of information about many different Kokeshi. A perfect resource for someone interested in collecting Kokeshi.
