Suntour SP12 NCX Suspension Seatpost with Cover

First I put one of these on my e-bike, and it made a big difference in the ride. The bike has front shocks, but I was getting hammered through my butt and my old back didn't like it at all. After some research on seat post shocks, This one seemed like a good compromise between performance and cost. It exceeded my expectations for performance, and within a week, I decided to replace the old seat shocks on both my wife's and my hybrid bikes. In both cases, the improvement was dramatic. I highly recommend these seat shocks.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Love it! I bought an e-bike that is a hard tail. When everything working as it should the ride at the seat was still too firm for my liking. This post has been great. It very easy to adjust and even though I’m heavy enough to need the stiffer elastomer (not by much), the current is working great. Do take the time to ride it and then change the setting and ride more until you’re happy, it’s not too difficult. It does have an odd sensation of “folding” back when compressing, that because it is a pivot design but instead of being completely vertical and in line with the seat post, the seat “rolls” towards the rear. Not a big deal at all, just a notice. Plenty of adjustments on the seat rails too and overall quality seems very good.

Bought this seat post to replace the rigid stock post on my wife's new Aventon Level.2 e-bike. The Aventon seat and seat post did not absorb any bumps and made long rides on mixed surfaces very uncomfortable. The SR Suntour SP12 NCX suspension seat post in combination with a new memory foam seat has proven to be the perfect solution. It was quick and easy to install. The seat angle and post spring load adjustments took just a couple of rides to find the best set points. I was concerned initially that the seat post's suggested rider weight range (132 ~ 220 lbs.) might be too high to be able to reduce the spring load low enough for my wife's weight (under 130 lbs.) but that proved not to be an issue. After a couple of weeks and 75+ miles riding, my wife is extremely pleased. I like the seat post's design, build quality, and ease of adjustment. The only design improvement that would make it better would be to add a graduated scale on the post to help reposition the seat height correctly when it is removed for load adjustments.

I have the ncx suspension post on all my ebikes. They are great and work very well!

Wish I could make it stiffer but it does create a better ride. Good purchase. I use on an Aventon2 electric bike.

My bike only has a front suspension and this totally made riding both roads and trails enjoyable. It was simple to replace my old seat post however, I needed a shim for it to fit my e-bike. The Cane Creek Seat post shim, 27.2 to 30.4mm, had it fitting perfect. I'm 200lbs and with the stock internal spring, this made my ride very smooth. The original non-suspension seat post with a Cloud 9 seat did not do nearly as good of a job. I even went back to my original seat. This suspension seat post does have a setback of about 20mm which was perfect for me. After adjusting it's the spring tension from Max Low (ride was bouncy) to Max High (very little absorption). I found my sweet spot just above the half way point within just a few tries. After you have your sweet spot figured out, you will notice that when it does the absorption, it move you away from the handle bars a bit due to how the device works but I got used to it after a couple of miles and I have been enjoying many miles in comfort!

Looks good. Solid. I researched the product online and was on the fence about the effectiveness of such an item. It does absorb bumps especially off-road or pavement shifts. Don’t really notice it much on road but it definitely absorbs shock. I was worried about pedal bounce but it doesn’t affect. I use it out of the box without any adjustments so I’m not sure what it is fully capable of. Good for the price. When I get an expensive e-bike I’ll try a more expensive brand but for my $100 beach cruiser this is very good value. Definitely enjoy it

What a huge difference this seat post has made! Got one for both my wife and me after our first outing on our hybrid e-bikes. We were feeling every crack in the pavement and every other bump that came along in spite of padded biking shorts and not-so-hard saddles. Now it's just nice - not air-cushioned smoothness like a car, but a non-painful, non-jarring bike ride. I adjusted my wife's to a lighter setting and left mine at the mid-setting the way it came. I weight 185 lbs. It was quite simple to adjust.

The cycle path I use in Melbourne is far from smooth and I was getting lower back pain. The shim I ordered to fit the 27.2 post to the 30.0 mm tube was the wrong size, but I was not required to pay for it and I re-ordered. So I had to wait a while to fit it. An amazingly smooth ride now. Even big bumps and dips, I don't feel. The bike does, but I don't. Never written a review before, but I felt compelled to give credit where it's due. This product does what it claims to do and is easy to fit (when you get the correct shim ,if you need one).

It is super good on Aventon Aventure 2. After I inflated from 10 to 20 PSI to increase range , the bike was too hard , kicking like a horse. I had a bad back fo a week before I installed this one in 2 minutes. It's like my 4 inch fat tire has 5 PSI pressure. So soft on humps and bumps. Expensive though !

Instalei-o em minha Specialized Turbo Vado 3.0 IGH e o resultado foi muito bom, mesmo porque essa bike não tem atualmente qualquer amortecimento no canote (embora imagens do manual mostrem que já teve no passado). Complementei com um selim acolchoado e o resultado final foi bastante benéfico para minha coluna e o conforto em geral, ao pedalar em piso irregular (paralelepípedo, p.ex.). O canote (original) da Suntour é um produto de excelente aparência e bem projetado, com um suave funcionamento de seu mecanismo. Acredito seja durável, seguindo-se as recomendações de manutenção do fabricante. É um produto caro, mas a transformação da bike é notável. Infelizmente, vejo que o preço atual na Amazon BR (12/02/26) excede em mais de 100% o que paguei em 31/12/25. Difícil entender por que, se se fizer a compra no site Amazon US, o custo final para entrega no Brasil ficará em torno da metade daquele anunciado no site brasileiro. Aos eventuais interessados, sugiro aguardar uma oferta razoável no Brasil, ou optar pela compra na Amazon US.
