An Excellent Value for a COMPLETE kit with tools to repair your screen
The GOOD first:- I really was happy when this screen arrived because it included all of the tools I needed. I had done many battery replacements before, but did not have the itsy-bitsy 3 lobe screwdriver to get at the home button. It comes with a good magnetic pad for your screws. This kit even comes with a new seal AND a screen protector... you might pay this much for a screen protector alone, so it is a great value!- The instructional video here on Amazon was great. It did miss a few steps, but I figured it out. Don't forget to peel off the protective tape on the new screen - in about 4 places. Also, In my case, I did have to remove the thin metal shield from my original phone (the video suggests that some shipments might already come with that plate). I had to use a hair-drier to remove both the bundle by the camera as well as the home button. If you don't use the hair-drier, it would be a nightmare and you risk tearing the cable. I had my wife hold the hair-drier on both glued down ribbons, as I GENTLY pushed with the spudger. Once it hits a certain temperature, they come off extremely easily. Before closing the case (and effectively the one-time-seal), I turned on the phone to verify everything worked. It did.- The screen worked, the touch worked; everything works after using this screen. The BAD:- Everything in the kit is cheap. I have other kits for taking apart phones, and while everything in this kit worked fine, my other kits are actually better. Nevertheless, if this is a one-time repair, you should be fine.- The most important problem: The quality of the display is quite a bit less than my previous screen / my spare phone screen. It is not as bright either. One thing I noticed is that after installing the screen, the phone automatically changed my settings from "Less Warm" to "Very Warm" under the night-shift setting. By putting the setting all the way to "Less Warm," That helped quite a bit. Nevertheless, a side-by-side comparison of my two phones reveals that the new screen looks "dingy" and a lot less vibrant. My photo (Attached) doesn't make it quite as apparent as it is in real life. The new colors are depressing. Also, it is not quite as bright as the previous screen. When I go to my settings on the phone with the new screen, the option "True Tone" is not available. On my other phone (with original iPhone screen), I do have the "True Tone" option. This might be why this screen looks so depressing.Summary:In spite of my slight disappointment in the brightness / colors, everything else was excellent and the value was superb. This is for my spare phone, and given the age of the phone, it does not make sense to pour a lot of money into repairing it. I give a 5-star review. I'll update my review in the future if there is any fault in the screen in the future.

good as new
It took a couple hours to fix, but now the phone looks good as new. The tools are incredible, even better than my own set, and I just used a razor blade and heat gun to pry up the screen. The screen protector doesn't come with guide stickers, so it is tricky to get that on right, but I was able to get it on well enough. However in the future I will get the screen protector seperately.

Not worth purchasing
Very disappointed with screen. The set itself is a nice idea. It comes with everything needed for a DYI replacement. The procedure is straightforward and took about 15-20 minutes. This was for an older iPhone 8 that I’ve successfully replaced the battery in twice and was hoping to keep alive after a screen incident. The replacement screen does not come with a new home button and must be swapped from the old display. Not really a problem, though it’s probably the most tedious part of the job. After finishing up, the screen powered on, and the camera and home button worked fine. The colors/hue/brightness are definitely different and I was never able to adjust the brightness to a comfortable level. The screen sensitivity is all over the place. Scrolling up often causes a right swipe and pinching/expanding is out of the question. There’s also a dead spot at the “U” on the keyboard. It appears that several functions are missing from this screen. It does not adjust to ambient light and it does not have a proximity sensor. So when on a call the screen does not turn off and my cheek is constantly pressing buttons. I did take it apart again to verify everything was connected and on further investigation noticed that it does not have the small lens above the speaker. I believe this is the location for the proximity and ambient light sensors. I put up with it for a week but ultimately decided to replace the phone.

Great kit, works wonderfully, but a little dark
Great kit, everything fits and works. Touch sensitivity is just slightly less responsive, but does not interfere with use at all. The only complaint I have is the color is dim and blue-ish, so what was once bright and easy to see is now darker. The images on the screen are clear, but like I said, just really dark no matter how bright I set it. It’s functional and has not glitched at all. I would purchase this kit again in a heartbeat. If the manufacturers could figure out how to increase the base brightness and white balance, this would be a 5 out of 5 instead of a 4 out of 5. I do appreciate the screen protector that came with the kit.

Great product
Screen works great so far. Easy to install. Had trouble getting screen to work at first but ended up having to unplug all battery ribbons and plugging back in and now works great. The included screen protector seems to be to small though. It doesn’t fit the whole screen.
