Do I apply it directly to my skin?

My wife uses this ice pack directly sometimes and sometimes with a thin towel - dish towel type. These are very comfortable and stay cold a long time. Highly recommend!

what is the difference between vinyl and polyurethane besides color? Why would I choose one or the other?

I had the same questions prior to purchasing. The polyurethane seems stronger and these packs are very pliable. Especially when coming straight from the freezer. They immediately wrap around the area I need to ice. I feel like these are going to put live any blue or vinyl pack I have had in the past! Hope this helps
