After working with my Border Collie for a week using this I can say it is awesome. It is great that it has beep, vibration and shock. I would, however, caution anyone using this to use it on yourself first. I tried the shock setting at 1and didn't even feel it. I figured I would try at 10 next since it goes to 16. MISTAKE! It caused pain and temporary (5 min) tingling on my arm. I would never use this above a 5 on my dog. I don't know why this goes to 16but unless you have a Woolly Mammoth at home DO NOT USE IT THAT HIGH!

I have had the Lobo commander for one week tomorrow. The first 5 days were great. Everything I could of ever imagined besides the vibration is useless for my dog. I used the shock button twice but the sound design button is just genius. The dog listens great without the shock. Like I said the vibration feature does nothing to my gsd it makes him try to eat his leg off, totally confuses him so he is not listening to me. (Not a complaint just the dog probably ) Yesterday I'm training him off a leash just like the last 5 days and he is heading towards the road so I hit the sound and nothing. I hit the sound about 5 times and nothing. Then the dog is like yah, so bye bye he goes I hit the shock and nothing. He came back within a minute of calling him and luckily didn't do any harm to anybody or anything. I changed the batteries with some Duracell that were brand new (being an electrician I checked the voltage on them too). After I changed the batteries still not working. I'm shutting it off and on finally I get a beep. Alright it works again. Wrong, 3 more times that night it quit on me, very frustrating for a product that I was loving to already break on day 5. My whole point on getting this collar was for training and socialization for the dog. If it's not working I could be in very big trouble with our sue happy country that we live in.

This is a GREAT training collar! We have, or rather, we had a strong willed, hardheaded Chiweenie! Before we got the Lobo Commander collar, she acted terrible, despite our trying to train her & even going to 'training academy'! She loved to dash outside if the door opened, making us chase her - no doubt a game for her! When guests came over, she'd leap to the front door, barking & yelping & then jumping up on our family/friends - embarrassing! Nothing was working! Finally, we resorted to this training collar & it has been wonderful! We now have a well behaved, docile dog!

Since I had a positive experience with another collar that only ended in disappointment, I decided to wait a while before II wrote a review of this collar. The other collar I bought I thought was amazing, until it pooped out on me less than a month later. I thought it was the best thing I could have bought... Until I put out a few more bucks and bought the Lobo Commander.The collar I had before was 100 levels, which you would think might give you more choices in terms of the level at which your dog receives the correction... It really was not so. The difference between shocks 1 and 2 were so different I can't imagine level 100! It just must be crippling. Where as this collar only has 16, they are much more accurate levels of useable corrections. Do not be drawn in like I was by other collars, more is not always better.The vibrate and tone works well, too. I have a small dog, a terrier at about 10 lbs., and he responds very well to all the different corrections. I can now let him outside, correct him if he goes too far, or hit the tone button to let him know it is time to come in. Amazing!He also has barking/aggression issues when approaching other dogs. He responds well to the mildest shocks when he begins to go into a tantrum. He doesn't yelp or make whining when he receives levels 1-3. If your dog does makes noise, you definitely want to reduce the level.My dog even suffered from seizures for a while during his "spells", so this device is truly a life saver for him. It keeps him calm and level headed. Before, the sight of one dog would ruin our entire walk, with me getting scratches and him panting and frustrated.Of course we have our good days and bad days, but ultimately, this has been the only product that has restored our freedom to go to parks and enjoy ourselves. I highly recommend it.And it's durable, too... Left my controller out in the dew overnight and it had water in the screen. Still worked like a charm and the screen cleared up almost instantly. We go out in the rain all the time and the collar has never failed.I do recommend if you plan on customizing the collar to fit your dog, sewing the end to the collar so that it won't slip out and the collar come off. I burnt the end after I cut it, too to prevent unraveling. Just a little work and it will fit your dog perfectly.FYI: I always hand tighten the prongs every so often, they do loosen over time.Update June 2020:My dog no longer needs correction, only to see the controller. So I have kept it over the years.... Only to hold it in my hand if I need him to obey. The other day I just put the batteries back in just for the heck of it to see if it still works. Yep, just like the day I bought it. Shame this one is unavailable now. What a great product.
