Vortex Diamondback HD 8x28 Binoculars

These Vortex Diamondback HD 8x28 binoculars are excellent. The image is sharp, the build feels durable, and the compact size makes them easy to carry. Great for football, scouting, outdoor use, and keeping in a bag without taking up much space. Strong clarity, smooth focus, and solid value.

Excellent build quality and great optics especially at this price. Focus dial has the perfect resistance for one handed use; Obtaining focus is precise and quick. The perfect companion on hikes. Every bit as effective as the bigger Diamondback HDs. I would say less color fringing than the larger objective lens models which is always a positive. Much smaller than the 10x42 shown. One of my favorite binos in my arsenal. The body feels good in hand being very slim. FOV is wide making it easier to scan and locate subjects. Image brightness is surprisingly above average given the objective lens is only 28mm.Cons: A little more finicky finding view due to the smaller exit pupil. Once you get use to it, a non issue.Easy recommendation. Great build quality and very good optical performance.

20 stars for these guys! These 8x28 binoculars far exceed my expectations. I'm an avid birder and I'm often out early morning in low light conditions, the brightness is impressive! This clarity in such a small package is a godsend for me, these are my new go to binos. Another plus is that these binos are the very first that work well with glasses, I can't recommend them enough.

Glass is above average. Not my first pair of vortex. Maybe (?) not the same quality of my first scope a number of years ago. I would not hesitate to buy them again.

Good compact bins for bird watching or sporting events, opera. Nice crisp view. It's a good compromise between carrying heavy bins and still viewing the majority of birds / animals. I also feel more comfortable in foreign countries with a less expensive and less conspicuous pair of bins. This is the perfect traveling or second set. Do I miss some birds - yes. But the weight tradeoff is worth it. I also find them less intrusive at the opera, and at the opera you don't need to react quickly anyway. The performer is going to be in one place for a whole aria.

Exactly what I was looking for in lightweight binoculars. Great clarity and brightness. My hand falls naturally on the super smooth focus. Easy one handed use.

Just wanted to let everyone out there know,ThanksVortex is an awesome company, with awesome products and customer service. Had a situation recently and Brian in customer service swooped in and more than helped me out, renewed my faith in real customer service, wish I could give more stars, truly remarkableThanks Brian

Clarity is excellent and resolution is very high in the middle 25% of the field, comparable to high end8 x 42 binoculars, dropping off toward the edge as all binoculars do. Controls work smoothly with a comfortable amount of force needed to focus. Size is just right for being easy to use without getting in the way carrying. Image is bright in normal daylight but I expect it will not perform as well as those having a larger exit pupil in darker conditions The field of view is wide but not super wide. Does not seem confining. Eye-relief is comfortable for use with glasses and provides a view of the entire field at once. Excellent binoculars period, but especially considering the size, price and unconditional warranty.

Excellent binoculars for backyard birding. Needed a pair for travel as well. Easily packable. Great starter pair for intro to birding. Good value.

I love these. They are light, relatively rugged and crystal clear. I've used them on trips to Scotland and for some of the local bird life and the clarity and ease of use are excellent. They come in a useful case. The only irritant are lens caps that can get in the way a bit. They might be physically too small for some people (my father couldn't use them as they weren't wide enough) but that's the only potential downside that I can think of.
