LEGO Ninja Turtles Turtle Lair Attack 79104

This is IMO the best set of the TMNT series! The lair is packed with fun features and you get 5 minifigures (not counting the shredder dummy). One of my favourite Lego sets, a must have! The build is very fun too.

My son is a huge TMNT fan and loves this set for all the great play it affords. There are some neat features like the moving manhole cover so he can get some fun/active battles going between the turtles and the bad guys. I thought things would be breaking off every 5 minutes if it were being played with but it's fairly solid and holds up to play. My son is turning 4 next week and definitely could not put it together on his own so his almost 6.5 year old sister put it together for him (it took a couple hours of dedicated work but she had a blast). For a building-inclined kid it doesn't seem too challenging especially since the instructions are broken up into well-defined sections. My son was initially disappointed it didn't come with all 4 turtles but once everything was together he didn't seem to mind having just the two. And I'll admit, my husband and I played with it a bit ourselves. All in all everyone was really happy with this set!

I ordered this toy for my five-year old grandson who has just discovered his love for Legos, and he's also a big TMN Turtles fan. The kit contained separate scenes instead of one, big structure which helped him break up the projects into smaller parts. He then had fun connecting the spaces together and playing with the unit as a whole. He plays with little else when he's at home and his parents often sit there and build with him. It was a perfect gift.

This was a gift for my niece who is 8. She loved putting it together and playing with it. She did need help putting it together. Some of the pieces are VERY small, which will make them easy to lose. Luckily, extras are sent with it, just don't forget where you store them. We put them in a zip lock bag, to keep them all together. The set comes with a tool to take the pieces apart and to help snap them together. I recommend building it on a hard solid surface with good lighting and plenty of room. Also having something large and somewhat flat with a edge, such as a cake pan, to put the pieces in, while building. It will make it easier to find the pieces without them getting away. Also be prepared to put it together more then once.

I bought this for my daughters who are huge ninja turtles fans. This set is not that impressive in terms of size but its got slots of play options. If you're looking for a set that is fun to build this is not the best choice. This is more of a set to play with once its finished.

I guess you get what you pay for. I could find no better price on this item doing my Christmas shopping early this past Christmas. After purchasing, I noticed it was sold out everywhere, even at the higher price of $15 -$20 more. I was glad I got this item when I did. Unfortunately on Christmas morning, we discovered why the bargain price . . . an entire bag of pieces to this set was missing, rendering it useless & making for one unhappy little 8 yr old girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This set is a lot of fun, and is likely to stir up some nostalgia for many parents sitting down to build this set with their children. The build itself is pretty straightforward, and novice builders are likely to only need a small bit of assistance with this set (with the stickers, at the least.) Once constructed, the set really keeps young builders busy with a lot of fun play features that LEGO seems to love cramming into these larger sets. A great build to share with the family.
