Good quality product
Satisfied with this toilet riser. Its construction is fairly rugged, and the seat is comfortable. Assembly was straightforward. There are two basic types of risers: the legless kind where the support handles extend outward from the riser seat itself, and the legged kind where the support handles are upward extensions of a four-footed structure. This one belongs to the latter class. This difference matters primarily because, in the case of the former style, if a heavy, mobility impaired individual is trying to seat himself while putting considerable pressure on the handles, the handles noticeably deform under the stress due to their less stable design as nothing more than a click-in part of the riser seat itself. Conversely, this model’s support handles are vertical extensions of the legs, so when a heavy individual applies pressure as he seats himself, there is 0 handle bend, given the significantly greater structural design. This may sound picky, but it’s critical.

Works
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Got it for a relative who went through surgery. It works really well. It is lightweight, easy to assemble, and the rubber on the bottom helps prevent it from moving when they use it.

Nice commode
Major problem while putting together is some of the holes for the screws do not line up with the captivated nuts. If not for my husbands skills and knowledge -we would not have been able to assemble this commode. Once together was sturdy and easy to adjust the height. Downside is the seat area is very narrow 18”. So we had to return the item because it was to uncomfortable for the person who had to use it. Not enough room to spread your legs while sitting down.

Gave new independence to my mother in law!
My mother in law is on the taller side. This makes getting up from the toilet a problematic affair, even with an elevated seat that they provide for her in her assisted living facility. She kept mentioning that if she only had a few more inches of height, this would make the difference. She disliked, understandably, having to call on staff to assist her with standing up from there. This seat starts out, at a baseline, where her medical seat was maxed out... around 22" off the floor, and can extend to a dizzying height. We actually are not using the highest setting, and now she can get up without serious issues, which is a hugely liberating thing for someone in assisted living. The only possible drawbacks - and they are slim - are that it is a bit laborious to assemble, it's not the most stable unit in the world (especially at its maximum height), and the suction cups that attempt to assist the user with securing the back legs of the unit to the floor don't work on tiled floor, which is what we have in the assisted living bathroom. But these are minor downsides to an otherwise excellent unit.

Dimensions listed are not correct
After spending almost 1 hour putting this thing together, it did not fit! The product dimensions are not correct. There was not enough clearance for the rear legs so I reread the product dimensions. Had the legs been one inch longer/higher, it would have worked.

Amazing design/engineering - disturbingly small seat opening
We bought this as our third attempt to find a suitable toilet riser seat with handrails - and returned it for two major reasons: This unit is designed to rest on the floor without a direct connection to the toilet fixture - and the suction cups on the feet did not engage with our irregular tile floor, so there was no stability. The seat opening is so small (actually smaller than a standard round toilet bowl) that it is actually dysfunctional for adult male requirements. What we wound up doing is buying Kohler's Hyten Elongated Toilet Seat Riser, along with a Medline Guardian Toilet Seat Rail - giving us the benefit of the full elongated seat, along with a dependably safe and rigid set of handrails. What was truly impressive about this unit is its design and engineering and ease of assembly. If you have a smooth floor suitable to firmly hold suction cups, then the stability should not be an issue for you. If you are not an adult male, then maybe the size of the seat opening would not be a problem for you. Hoping this is helpful to you.

Customer service is so fast and so great
I had a problem with one of the legs. The button that pushes in and pops out into the next hole for height adjustments was defective. I contacted the seller through Amazon and they actually replaced the pole (and an extra one!) for no cost to me. It is a quality piece of DME (durable medical equipment) and there is no connecting it to the toilet. You sit it over the commode when needed and if another family member needs to move it, they lift and move it. It weighs no more than a walker. So pleased with this company and my customer service representative Lamya.
